Hi All
Need a new pc as my 8 year-old one is feeling its age here is the spec but open to any different changes,the only this is the gpu as i cant decide between the 3060 or the 3070.

Hi, decent build. However, I would amend a few things. Before that, could you let us know your budget, PC uses (just gaming or streaming, editing etc) - before answering this you need to think not about uses now, but likely uses within a few years period in future. Also, very important - what is your monitor (resolution, refresh rate), and if a budget is just for a PC or also for a monitor (if you still haven't got and looking to get it)?

I would add a secondary storage drive as having Windows in primary and games in a secondary give a good performance boost.

Regarding GPU: a difference between 3060 and 3070 is huge! 3060 is mainly for 1080p while 3070 is for 1440p. Except if you meant to say 3060Ti, which is yes - for 1440p.

I'm definitely recommending to change a wifi card from the old tech N to much better AX200 which support 5GHZ wifi and has a Bluetooth too! It's just a few tenners more, but a real no brainer.

I tempted to think that you don't need X570 motherboard as it's closer to the high performance higher end systems costing closer to 2000 pounds systems. 5600X is a nice sweetspot for gamers, not running hot and B550 is perfectly fine and quite good mid-range mobo.

I'm gaming mainly as for budget £1500-£1800
Monitor is a 1080p 60hz but will at some point upgrade that to a better one 1440p 144hz
As for the other suggestions, I will be changing the spec for that
I went for the x570 board for longevity and to upgrade in the future but if you guys think that's not worth the extra money then happy to go for the B550 and spend the extra elsewhere

At what point are you thinking of upgrading to 1440p, if its some time ahead you only need a 1660 with that monitor

Martin has a valid point. If you upgrade to 1440p after more than 1 year, then better to aim specs for 1080p now, but if within a few months, then target specs to 1440p.

Regarding a motherboard - if you'll change a CPU after 3 or more years, then maybe worth to get X570 now, of it will still support new CPU generation.

I plan to upgrade to 1440 either by the end of the year or middle of next year depending on funds.
As for the cpu i wont be in any rush to change that to quickly as ive had this pc for 8 years

in that case I'd stick with the 1660 for now & upgrade the GPU when you get a 1440p monitor, hopefully by then supplies and prices might have stabalised

I agree with the points made in the conversation above. For a spec, if you're happy to reach the top end of your budget, you could opt for a Ryzen 7 now, instead of upgrading later

Depending on how much you're wanting RGB RAM, I'd go for a larger case, the 220T is pretty small meaning the AIO rad wouldn't be top mounted, cutting even more into the precious space at the front and I'd worry your upgraded GPU wouldn't fit. I've gone for the TD500 Mesh and RGB RAM on this spec, it's a larger case so will give more space at the front, even if the AIO Rad is front mounted. For GPU I've gone for the 1660 Super as it's only £10 more than the 1660 at the moment. For storage, there's now a super fast 500GB Boot SSD for windows and programs then a 1TB Games drive and a 2TB HDD for general files. For PSU, I've upgraded to a top of the line RMx 850W which will comfortably power this system and allow for your GPU down the road. The 5800X can be a toasty chip so I've gone for the H115i Capellix cooler, it's a newer generation and larger than the one you had. I've removed the extra fan as it won't be necessary, although it can always be added back if you'd prefer one. The AX200 wifi card is a no-brainer if you need Wifi and the Silver warranty is a great deal for £5.

Hi all
I know I posted a while ago but stuff got in the way so didn't have a chance to do anything about it.
Budget £1700-£1800
I'm on a SyncMasterP2370hd monitor but will be upgrading by the end of the year
Pc will be mainly for gaming and normal surfing no work stuff or streaming
Ive put the x570 so I can upgrade in the future, id like 1440 at some point but funds will dictate that right now.
Any help with this I would appreciate.
