Hi,

I am wondering what the best method is to use when buying Steam games or adding funds to my Steam account is.

I have a few questions:

Are there any reliable websites to buy Steam Wallet topup from – preferably as a digital code?

Can you add funds to your Steam account using Paypal?

Are there any reliable websites to buy Steam games from, which can be cheaper than buying from Steam directly?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.

What does Google tell you? If you link what you find then we can discuss.

I just linked my PayPal to my Steam and that’s served me well over the years, never needed to consider another payment method.

As for third party sites that offer game keys, I’ve used CDKeys a couple of times and not had any problems. But with the amount of sales on Steam, you never have to wait too long for things to get a bit cheaper. Just add them to your wish list and you’ll get an email when they’re on offer.

The other thing to consider if you’ve not already done so would be getting the Epic Games launcher. The UI isn’t as good as Steam but they have some decent deals, exclusives (timed and permanent), and tend to offer one or two free games per week.

The safest way is one off payments, do not link any accounts to cash, just untick remember card and clear browser history after each purchase.

Having said that its also a good idea having a PayPal account where you keep a game or two amount of funds available.

inaddition to Epic, you also have Humble and GOG.

Also be aware, the most common way of hacking your Steam account is still people posting links for ‘cheap’ license keys or digital codes etc.

Between the various sites there a usually a raft of games on sale.

Never rush buy games, both Steam and Epic have big sales a couple times of the year.

Christmas sale is one to save your pennies for.

I have recently noticed that CDKEYS.com, do not have Paypal as a "guest" checkout option on their product pages anymore.

When I have logged into my CDKEYS.com account, the only payment method shown at the checkout is to pay by credit/debit card. There are no other payment methods shown, e.g. PayPal.

Any reputable online retailer accepts PayPal, and CDKeys certainly still do also:

I'm slightly annoyed that people jumped on this before giving you the chance to investigate yourself.

What we can do to help you is teach you how to use google, as the threads you post are not issues at all, they're general internet basics.

When paying for something online, always use credit card or something like paypal as each transaction is covered.

NEVER use wallets within a site as you're bound by that sites security which is far less than a banks.

Always use 2 Factor Authentication where available.
