Ok I thought I'd add a little more red to my desktop so ordered a red LED lightstrip via the upgrade configurator, but on recieving it i can't workout where to plug it in, these are the connections either end

That connects to the ARGb connector on the motherboard (if available). I believe the other end is for daisy chaining them.

Is it a 5v or a 12v strip?

I've just had a quick look and I'm not sure I can see an RGB header on that board... could it potentially go into a spare fan header?

Hi @Scott ,

I can't see an ARGb connector, or anything that resembles the opposite version of either end, as for if it's 5 or 12 volt I've no idea all it shows on configurator is as the photo below

No can't see any, and if you remember from the other day when i was looking at adding some RGB fans it told me that it wasn't compatable with the board, however it allowed me to choose this.....

Tried on a fan header connection and it doesn't fit

I think you would be best to call and ask PCS how they connect them. There may be an adapter they use if there isn't an option for it on the motherboard.

Is it a particular colour or is it RGB? If it's RGB it at least needs to connect to some sort of controller. Whether that is from the motherboard or a 3rd party option, it needs to be controlled from something.

OP stated he'd ordered a red light strip so the RGB isn't an issue (y)

Cheers for the suggestions @Scott & @AgentCooper , I've been on amazon to see if i could find any form of adapter that i could power it from & couldn't see anything, however in my searches I came across this which has its own controller that can be powered by a sata power cable, so I've ordered one & it should be here in a couple of weeks.

As you may gather i was determined to get some more colour in there somehow

I would give them a call. It's perhaps been assumed that you have a controller. Or maybe a controller was supposed to ship, or a cable, or something. I genuinely don't know but it would be good to have the answer for any future arisings :D

Got the following reply earlier:

Hello,

I believe they are connected through the USB ports on the motherboard.

Could you send a picture of the cable so I can see the connection?

Many thanks,

So I sent the photos, see what the reply is
