Which SSD

My finances are finally allowing me to think about a new laptop and a bit of help would be appreciated, there will be other questions but I will start with which SSD. I see many are now choosing the Samsung 850 EVO. Originally I would have gone with the Kingston HyperX. Does anyone have any experience of these drives, the cost is similar so I will go for the one which seems best rather than save a few quid.

The 850 Evo uses a brand new method of stacking the NAND which is called 3d VNAND which essentially means they're faster, and last a lot longer than other drives. As far as I'm aware, no one else has managed to duplicate it, so the 850's are leaps and bounds ahead of competitors and for once Samsung did the right thing and kept the price competitive.

I would say the Samsungs come out top, with Intels second and Kingstons third... in my humble opinion, of course :)

To be brutally honest, Kingston or Samsung are going to feel just about identical in everyday use so you will want to use other metrics to choose between them.

Things like warranty (intel/Samsung are strong) Vs price (Kingston) VS benchmarks(very close) eight down to how you want your system to look (colour scheme?)

personally I don't think you can go far wrong, I opted for a Samsung when I upgraded from a HDD after really being tempted by a so so brand that was double the capacity for a couple of quid more.

Thanks both, have added reps. I have laptop specs from some months back so will go with a version of them when the cash is available, although probably be back with a couple more questions.
