whos on build stage for delivery of optimus vii laptops?

hi,

new to forum, so hello everyoone.

just wanted to know at what stage everyone else is at for orders for the optimus vii laptops (17").

i ordered mine on the 8/09/2015 and it is on pr-production for ages, im on 21st working day now. i know their waiting for new chassis/processor to arrive, and am trying to be as patient as possible, but am wondering how everone else is doing.
apparantly ETA IS 9/10/2015, i was told 6 or 7 /10/2015 last week???

My order was placed at the start of the month, so about a week ago, which was after the new models came out.

Had an email today giving estimated build date of the 19th if it means anything to you

EDIT - I would seriously consider adding the better thermal paste, temps in laptops can be a problem, the Arctic MX thermal paste should help with that.

ive had NO contact whatsoever from PCS, i had to contact them to find out whats happening. - no emails, no phone calls nothing, nadda, zilch

youve already got a build date WOW!

Well my previous estimated build date was the 15th, and that was the weekend. So moving goal posts I guess

Interesting, still in Pre-Production here.

My estimated build date is slipping with each notification date I get too. I've had the following:

04/10: Thursday 15th October 2015.
08/10: Monday 19th October 2015
10/10: Tuesday 20th October 2015
12/10: Thursday 22nd October 2015

It would be more useful of course if the updates actually gave you stock information, like if the chassis was out of stock when it was expected in, as the predictive date is just moving with the actual date really it's not telling me much. Was expecting some delay so just accepting it and waiting patiently.

Also shame I can't get the Samsung 850 EVO in M2 format for this, they have the SFF Sata one, and other makes like Kingston/Crucial in M2 format SSD, but not the 850 directly it seems.

only thing worrying me is it was in testing a few minutes before i got dispatched email.. so dunno if they did quality control on it???

Well remember that the stages are manual updates on the system, so I reckon that it probably went into testing yesterday (possibly late yesterday) and has had since then for testing and QA (noting that some of it is automated so it can be left running tests overnight).

I also ordered the 15.6 version, which was on 4th. Dunno how many people in this queue are before me. Before I never though about how life without a personal PC will be. I have to use the PCs in my uni to do my coursework and this makes me so sick.

I'm buying this for my uni coursework also, and I bought mine last week, same as you. Has yours gone through preproduction? Mine went through yesterday. 15.6 Optimus VII.

received my 17" optimus today. whoopeee..

looks good, wont have a good chance to test and play about till weekend but intial thoughts ....

chasis looks good, well made.
screen/hood - reports of it being flimsy .. yes and no. ( again intial thoughts yet) seems sturdy enough to me.
whole chassis is soft touch
17" is "MASSIVE" , first time i went for 17" screen, brightness of screen looks a bit dim ( again initial thoughts) may be cos of windows 10.
- who else has ordsered windows 10 on the laptops, or pc's??
keyboard feels good and easy to use, gentle keypresses work fine
mouse pad seems good to, soft touch again including the buttons, with a fingerprint reader - dont know how to set that up yet? ( reports of mouse pad being of poor quality seem to be untrue?)
very large palm rest area
key illumination - dont know to make it work? i know how to switch illumination on, but the keyboard doesnt illuminate - probs due to windows 10 drivers, will have to figure out

windows 10 - ive used windows 8, but this w10 is bit more different and will need some getting used to . will have to pop over to mydigital life forums for info and usability tweaks etc.
few driver issues need to be sorted out still from outta the box.

when i switched it on ... it went straight into ddiskchk, apparantly was shut down incorrectly ??? rushed throght QC ???

overall i am very happy, no chuffed hehehe.
