I am looking at upgrading my 5 year old machine and was reasonably settled on the 15.6 Elimina - however when I tried to get some specs to post here it won't let me proceed due to stock issues...
An alternative would be the slightly more expensive but fairly similar Emilina Pro (see below).
These models do not have a huge amount of customisation and so hopefully everything is fairly straight forward .... but...
I would ideally have a little more hd space than the 1TB shown here. My current laptop has a 512GB INTEL® 600p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (upto 1775MB/sR | 560MB/sW) and I was wondering whether 1) it would be compatible if I transferred it after the new machine arrived and 2) would I need to specify the 1TB drive in the new machine as being in a particular slot in order to make the installation easier to access?
I am comfortable with installing the M2 drive if the slot is easily accessed from opening the bottom of the laptop but would be a bit nervous if I needed to move the motherboard to get access.
Also would the advice change if I were to wait it out for the cheaper "standard" Elimina model?
Finally, I also have 8GB HyperX IMPACT 2133MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 8GB) in my current machine. If I were to go for the Elimian Pro then I don;t think that it is worth my time transferring this as the Ram in the spec below is 2400MHz rather than 2133MHz and 16GB should be more than enough.
If I were to hold on for the "standard" Elimina then I would have the option of selecting a 8GB Corsair 2133MHz - which along with the 8GB in my existing machine could give me 16GB total and save me a few quid. Would this be manageable/compatible or is it crazy talk?
My current machine is a bit beaten up (case and keyboard) and so I don't think has any significant resale value but might be able to save me a little on the new machine or supplement it slightly.
The machine would be used for moderate gaming with the selection based principally on the best that I can afford in budget with the hope that it will last me as long as possible.
I hope that is not too much of a ramble and is reasonably understandable. Thanks in advance for any help.
