win 8 help for optimus 2 pls? how to get wifi button to work?

i upgraded my win7 ult install to win8 pro earlier today. most seems to work fine. no "!" in dev man etc (uninstalling intel wifi drivers though - GOD that was a pain) but the only thing i can't seem to get working is the wifi button on the top right of the keyboard?

you have power, video, sound and wifi. the audio and video ones work but the wifi one does nothing.

are these the hotkeys? or do i need to reinstall the chipset drivers?

Try Fn and F12. or Fn plus whatever key the wifi symbol is on,you may need to install "hotkey" from the driver disk provided.

i did install hotkey (had to repair it) and as mentioned the other buttons work - just not wifi

Could be a driver issue,try running "windows update" to see if any software updates are available,failing that try manufacturers website for compatible drivers.

as for manuf - i have no idea who makes the various parts

You have to install a newer version of hotkey. I also had this on my vortex 3 when I upgraded to win8.
Here's the link, you just have to choose your model and select the drivers.
