ok
I am planning on buying a new pc from this website, I am buying a custom build without windows 7 installed.
I have got the windows 7 dvd.

My question is:
Since the product key installed on my current computer is genuine, but not the original product key when I bought the pc. Can I use this product key on the new pc I will buy, because I won't use my old pc anymore.

I'm pretty sure if win7 was loaded on the pc when you bought it its tied to that pc, If you have you're own win7 disk then I think that you can use it again, however, I may be wrong.

No, what happened was that my pc got 'hacked' and they erased all my hard drives, so I had to buy a new windows 7 copy/ dvd. (£80)

Now, can I use that windows 7 copy for my new computer, since it wasn't tied to the pc..?
I will of course stop using it for the current pc..

If the windows7 dvd is a retail version you can run it with the supplied product key
on any one computer at a time.

I asked the same question when I bought my LT, if the disc says OEM it can only be installed on one machine, & re-installed only on that machine if a re-install is needed.

I use this thread to ask a related question. If I purchase a brand new win7 and install it on my current computer, will I be able to install it again and again on any new computer in future or is it attached to one specific system (motherboard or something) ?

If it's a retail version you can install it on any one computer at a time,
OEM's are tied to the one computer.

OEM's are are operating systems supplied with the computer by manufacturers like PCS,
& can only be supplied with a computer & can only be used on that computer.
Retails are more expensive & can be installed on any one computer at a time.

So, if I decide to go for the retail Full Version (PC DVD), 1 User option (circa 110GPB), I am going to be able to use it for next, lets say 10 years regardless of a number of times I am going to change my machine? The only condition is, it must be used on one particular system at a time? And after a decade I'll be able to upgrade it through purchasing a future windows UPGRADE version only...? Am I right here, please?

Far as I know,that's correct.
EDIT, make sure you get the 64bit version if you want to use more than 4GB of RAM.
