Windows 8 failure

Hello,
My Pc arrived today and I had paid to get windows 8 with it; however the product key had been removed from the case. I managed to skip past the activation stage, but if I don't activate it within a month the computer will be almost useless.

I used a programme (Belarc advisor) to find my product key, however when I entered this it said 'this product key has been blocked'. Any ideas as to what I should do?

I'd give PCS a call tomorrow and ask them about it, its unusual that the product key would be removed. I'd also double check all the packaging etc in case its fell off in there :). Failing that, PCS should be able to advise you on how to proceed.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah I checked everywhere; I can actually see where it was supposed to be as well. Strangely although I have found the product key using the aforementioned programme, windows tells me that this particular product key is blocked.

I can see this being a tricky situation, best that I phone PCS tomorrow then.

When you say case... do you mean DVD case? If so, have you check the actual case of the PC (or underneath if it's a laptop), as we remove it from the packet and put it on the machine itself. Usually at the back if its a PC... plus if it's Windows 8, it's tiny... and the text is tinier :(

The code that is currently on it is indeed blocked, it will still be using our installation code.

Aha, yeah it was on the back of the actual desktop case (I was looking on the cd case) :) Sorry, must have missed it.

Thanks very much, this site has been fantastic and the support that I have received is second to none, I will certainly recommend and return in future :)
