Its out in the UK on the 26th October.

Will it be immediately available for the PC's sold here on PC Specialist? Figured I may as well wait until then if so.

I will never install windows 8. The features are... lets just say... not that attractive nor different to windows 7.

Yeh but i'd rather buy a new PC with windows 8 than get one now and it be 'out of date' in a couple of weeks.

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I would imagine PCS would have windows 8 from 26th October or shortly after.

What do you mean by out of date? The PC or Windows? If you mean Widows then remember the windows update service will still exist and there is a good chance Microsoft wont be changing the installation disc until service pack 1 comes out, so everyone will be installing (and subsequently updating) the same version of the OS for a good while yet.

I think he means that windows 7 will not be the "latest" OS once windows 8 hits the shelves. Windows 7 will have support for many years to come. Alot of people are saying the same quote all over the net

Windows 7 is the new XP
Windows 8 is the new Vista
