Can anyone help me with this issue.

80% of the time when booting my laptop optimus 17 (w350stq/w370st 4700mq) windows will drop my multiplier resulting in 1.4ghz.

Its not a thermal thing, happens on boot and heatsink is clean. messaged PCS about this and updated to the latest bios that didnt help.

I seen this thread about something similar https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?8551-CPU-Multiplier-stuck&highlight=multiplier

So i want to try and reinstall powerbiosserver service but how do i do this? or if someone has a better idea please let me know as i need to use throttlestop every time i want full speed.

thanks in advance

It's most likely the Windows power settings. Performance mode will set it higher. Battery saver will keep it low.

I wish it was that simple, everything set to 100% in the power settings and dosnt change the speed at all.

Should be running a min of 2.4ghz even when it's warm.

Well that was what was causing it on mine. Is it staying at 1.4 when you do something demanding or is it just at idle? You could also try setting a profile in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility which may help

yeah its capped at 1.4ghz no matter what, i can use a program called throttle stop and it changes back to x34 multi. thats the only way it goes back to normal. no power options i have tried helps.

this powerbiosserver service seems to have something todo with it.

Did you take a look at Intel XTU I suggested above? It's designed to give more control over clock speeds so may help you find a solution.
