Hi there, what’s the max budget for the build? Would there be any other uses than gaming such as streaming and editing? And what monitor will you be pairing with the build? Resolution and refresh rate or make and model is helpful info 👍

Hi, ill be using this for my degree (computer science) and gaming with the side use of other applications such as editing. For the monitors, I haven't selected one as of yet. Any specific monitor in mind? - kind regards

edit: budget is around £2700-3000

I see. My budget was 2700-3000 minus the monitors so what Ive put down on my specs, will they be fine in terms of what I want, high end gaming, etc with the right monitor 144hz...?

The general recommendation these days is to go for an AMD CPU these days, they’re outperforming Intel across the board.

@SpyderTracks put together this handy guide on why that’s the case...

I'll have a read now, thank you :)
Hate to ask as I feel rude doing so but would anyone be able to create a spec using AMD, rtx 3080...?
Something that is cable of running games 4k high frame rates etc, etc would be much appreciated. my overall budget is anywhere 2700-3000 mark

if not then I might stick to intel i9 for now, and if that is the case, will the specs are listed be more than fine?

no worries :) mainly though with what I put at the beginning will the specs with the i9 be suitable for my needs or is it a flop overall. like will it be more than capable of running games on high with no issue - star citizen, call of duty, etc.... and appreciate the help guys really helpful :)

appreciate it, ill have a good look into both amd and intel as Ive usually gone with intel in the past but if what people are saying are true with AMD it might be time to convert over - thanks again guys :)

It’s worth reading that post above, makes it quite clear why AMD are so much better at anything other than 1080p gaming.
