Hi All,

I have just ordered a windows 8 64bit pc, I currently have a xp pro pc with WOW installed. To save me installing/downloading 19gb of data can i just simply copy and paste the folder over my network to the new pc when it arrives?

Or does wow need a proper install for any system files??:sweatdrop:

Thanks

If your talking about "saved games" data that might be possible after installing wow on windows 8,but the game itself will need to be reinstalled first.

Wow does not write any files to the registry or at least nothing that pins it to any particular location. You can just copy paste the entire contents of your last install and keep it on an external source. The same process for dragging it over to your new pc.
I used to keep my WoW saved onto an old ipod. :)

I copy and paste from XP to Vista to Windows 7 all the time as I like it on all my gear. If you cannot copy and paste to Windows 8 I won't be buying it.
