Seen a few of the fights. Was a bit much though, 8 hours or something like that.... without any real contests for me.

The last fight was meant to be one sided too..... it was, it just went the wrong way from what was expected :ROFLMAO:

No atmosphere in Saudi for me. Same with the UFC. They aren't very enthusiastic and it seems like more of a who's who of that particular world rather than a contest. At least in Vegas people are there to see some action and not just be seen seeing some action.

when watching the fury fight there was more atmosphere in the bar where homer was watching rather than in the arena

For many years, THE place to box in the US (before Vegas took over) was Madison Square Garden. Case in point, the Fight of the Century:

Places with history behind them will always make events there special, but that history takes time to build. There also needs to be a passionate fanbase in order to create the moments that go down in history.

Throwing piles of cash at things, like the Saudis are doing, won't create the fanbase, so the atmosphere won't be right and so the truly iconic moments won't happen. Still, the promotors, etc will make piles of cash and that's ultimately all that matters, right?!

It's probably going to take many big stars in whatever sport it is to very publicly say no to the money to have any impact on shifting attention away from Saudi Arabia, UAE, etc.
