I’l have to double check it tomorrow, it’s been like it since PCS built it though so i would assume its correctly installed. Will let you know tomorrow.
When gaming it doesnt get over 74c so it must still be working as theres cool air coming from the case?
Do you have a good suggestion for a 240mm cooler?
You asked me if i had taken a screenshot during the test and that was it. Previously i only put the end result screenshot in, probably why you’re getting confused.
I ran the test for a solid 3 minutes before the temps went to 90, they didn’t slowly increase they seemed to just dramatically...
That last photo was 2 minutes into the test, the first photo i put was about 30 seconds after i didn’t even make it to ten minutes. The cpu went from 63c to 90c within seconds. Is this normal during the stress test?
This was within about 3 minutes of the test, i ended it when it got to 90c as i didn’t want to do damage. I have a feeling the cooler has failed as its running quite loud. Thermal paste isnt an issue as i put it on correctly with an even spread across the whole cpu.
5800X3D arrived today, updated bios. Installed CPU. The difference in smoothness of gaming is impressive. Fps wise there isn't a noticeable difference but it just feels so much smoother. On load cpu highest temp is 74 and 62 idle. I assume those must be the required temp settings. Thanks for this!
Well there's my telling off for not coming to the forum before upgrading lol.
I'll see if i can send it back as i'll still be in the 14day window. If it's that much of a difference then i'll be shocked as i noticed a massive difference in FPS and smoothness from a 5600x to a 5950x.
I'm currently at work so i wouldn't be able to tell you right now. Sorry.
I'll try a stress test tomorrow though and see how it goes.
What cooler would you suggest? To be honest there was a deal on with that cpu & i read its the best performing CPU i could buy for my build.
Especially as the...
