ill find out soon....just now need to make my mind up... on one hand a .....phanteks Glacier One 360MP with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Paste as phanteks Paste sucks going from reviews. or a ....Corsair H150i Elite Capellix with the ICUE commander thingy..kinda handy.
and before u say...
I did follow your advice..changed the case.....and the case u recomended was for none OC..as i said so couldn't pick it..and the ram speed for the amount wasn't on offer too..and last the Hero III hasen't been in stock this whole time..so kinda a unicorn item like graphics cards atm
...also...
hehehe ... just throwing this last Q out there....what if the cpu was run at 95-100C what would the temp of the liquid in the AIO be..danger to the plastic and rubber or not?..and the mobo? ..seems strange that AMD would say that without any care for what it could do damage wise long term to...
That is interesting..good find..ok so my chip has a higher tolerance to heat..glade to know..i feel i little bit better now..but what about everything else around it..the Mobo and AIO i'm sure are not built for long life at those temps. as this just sounds crazy to run a chip at 95C without...
Side Q....So I don't know much about AMD OC hence I got PCS to do it.....but i've been looking into it ...so going by what i know so far do I just turn down the "CPU Core Ratio" multiplier down from 44 to say..40 for now to get better temps and I'll turn it back up to 44 after getting a bigger...
thanks again for the replays.... so looks like a H150i is the key to putting my mind as rest then..as im kinda worried that if i don't do this the chips life will be short as running any chip can't be good for long periods at 80C-85C (summer heat temp prediction ...it could be more) anyway...
cheers yep so kinda missleading list in the configurator....i would of never thought of this cooler as an option if it wasen't for the 350W TDP..also it does say this in the blurb
Sounds great... but I have worked out and as you all have guessed still not adequate for such a beaffy chip..also...
kicking myself for not going for the corsair H115i Pro XT...and no paste :(...i didnt see the H150 as an option..but anyway...so this setup is kinda lame for summer :( it says on the site that this AIO can get rid of 350W..but maybe PCS needs to update that, and the draw back of extra paste...
power draw is 200-210W under load....210 if after an hour load
rig is
COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500 ARGB GAMING CASE
Overclocked AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core (3.4GHz @ up to 4.65GHz)
ASUS® ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING (USB 3.2 Gen 2, PCIe 4.0) - ARGB Ready!
64GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (4 x...
well thats sucks :( so i can't change the pump speed then :( also im fine with the fans making as much noise as they want..but still stumped as to how to control them and their curve
I know I've already said this rig is great and everything and theirs peeps with more pressing problems, but i'm starting to think that when it starts to get warmer over summer i might have to down clock my chip to say 4 or below GHz not great! (and i have no idea how to do that atm)...but going...
its boosting to a max of 4.4 GHz whether it's a single core or multi core workload but of course not all cores are used in some workloads so only those will boost ..i haven't looked at the bios to tell you what way round they did it...but i'm thinking it's the heat that's stopping me from...
AMD are amazing but do u mean a threadripper or just the 5950X SPYDER? also maybe get a bigger cooler 280mm over a 240mm
as to rendering this is why i went with the 5950X (see pic)
also maybe don't go for an OC AMD build if ya do. as u do all sorts, a OC AMD will be a flat GHZ around 4.5-ish...
Got my new rig last week took 15 days from order to delivery, great Q build and amazed at the speed of the 5950X :) also i was kinda expecting a ref card not the XFX new beast so super chuffed :) it has a stable OC at 4.4ghz..... when i render in 3dmax/vray for instance it's around mid 70's C...
