Yeah, speaking from personal experience though at least one competitor’s configurator only lists the parts they have in stock. Mine was built and arrived within two weeks.
To add my personal experience, I've had an order here since the 17th. Just cancelled, after finding another retailer that only allows in-stock components in its configurator - got the same build with a Zalit 3080 for Nov 3rd delivery. This hasn't been easy for anyone, but opening up pre-orders...
I’m taking this email as a sign that I should back out of this situation slowly. Not necessarily cancel, though that’s probable, but definitely stop visiting this forum, and pcs in general, and get used to this being a long term issue. This checking and hoping is bad for my mental health and has...
The launch of the 3070 was just delayed by two weeks - for anyone waiting for that. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2020/10/02/nvidia-delays-the-geforce-rtx-3070-retail-launch/#48a9f716faca
As an update, customer service just said the PSUs are currently set to be restocked on October 5th. So depending on when your card arrives (June?) it probably won't make any difference if you upgrade it.
That may have been my fault – I just upgraded mine. Wasn't showing as out of stock when I made the amendment – now it is.
Does anyone know if that means I might also be at risk of a delay – or is the PCS system good enough that if a part like that was in stock when I bought it, I should be OK...
Hah, I think that’s part of it – I know going into PC gaming that it‘s going to be a hassle. That’s part of the fun. But every day that passes without even knowing if I’m going to get a machine before 2021 I just feel exhausted! With the recent tech issues I’m already looking up how to...
I agree that the waiting is objectively fine - from an objective standpoint you could tell me I would get my order at the end of November and I wouldn’t care – from an objective standpoint. It’s the actual minutes that are annoying - or the day-by-day wondering. Just a bit more communication...
I think in general in this thread the attitude has been one of patience and understanding. Everyone knows this is difficult for PCS. But it’s getting to the point where some more communication would be helpful. Other retailers have met customers halfway on this, giving details (where they can)...
I watched this video and found it helpful – one thing I don't understand though: This problem seems to be related to overclocking specifically. For a newbie, is that something you would consciously have to choose to do – or if I get my build and turn it on, will overclocking be on in some form...
