Outside of mass storage for backups or irregular use files mechanical HDDs are pretty much redundant at this point. They are fantastic for mass storage on a budget, but not for actual used storage.
I would actually consider 3 M2 drives in your shoes, with the 3rd acting as a cache/fast storage...
I posted another build in a similar thread. I would want the latest tech in a professional build so would look at the X870 paired with the 9950X. It adds a fair bit to the budget but the performance difference is decent with the 16 core chip.
If you're considering top tier on the GPU down the...
You're definitely looking at £2.5k for a sensible build for your uses. £1.5k just isn't realistic and would be hamstrung left right and centre if you went down that route. Unfortunately shoehorning in a CPU & GPU to a budget while all else is under-par leads to a poor system overall.
Below has...
Likely a fair shout for the 7950X3D in this instance. Just to check that the simulation will use the CPU and not the GPU? If it could be GPU based then an Nvidia card would likely be better.
Few tweaks outside it but broadly a top end system. The GPU requires a high end 1440p monitor, no...
That's great, that's exactly what you should expect.
With the sides on check the pump on balanced and extreme. Either should be fine to be honest, the cooler has more than enough for the chip. If you don't notice any audible difference with it fully enclosed then just go with extreme.
With the...
I was very active on XDA myself. I wasn't a Windows guy though, it was almost always Samsung (even pre-Android) that I was playing with.
It was an amazing forum and resource. It grew so much. That's a real shame to know it's gone that way.... everything seems to head in the same direction now...
Just double check as the cables are at quite the stretch to get to the hub. You may need to come through a different cutout on the case to get to them.
I would be surprised if you had to remove them to get any slack, unless you mean you need to remove them to rotate them?
No, I had the louvres on. I was going to go with the solid top if it ended up noisy but it was ridiculously quiet.
Don't sort this with a bandaid. Get it all functioning as it should. If you get the system running properly you'll not only have an aha moment when you recognise how it should...
There's definitely merit to that. To be fair the OP shouldn't be going through this pain as IMO the builder should be taking this particular setup into consideration. What you describe can be an expensive quality of life upgrade, but that's only where you want to do the tweaking.
If the HUB...
I'm really curious how I had my system running. I had the Define R6 previously and I don't remember having any issues at all with the fans.
The only thing I can think of is that I had one of the fan connections on the hub and then onto the motherboard. I certainly don't remember any complexity...
You can, but after searching I seen some comments that the Commander Core doesn't support DC control. There is no manual for the Commander Core, or any reference material as it's a bundle, so I'm just going off of word of mouth.
Mystery solved there too. Commander Core cannot control DC, you need the Commander Core Pro in order to control DC.
So..... you have 2 fan controllers in your build and neither can solve all your problems in one.
While you're in there I would probably take out the Nexus hub as it's going to be...
Must admit, I'm really surprised with that. Most fan controllers can handle both, although granted they do need to be configured appropriately in the software.
There are a myriad of Corsair options with the controller though. I'll have a look to see if I can figure out which one you have.
I would still prefer AMD also but I have no issues whatsoever recommending Intel in the laptop sector. There has been mention about the issues falling over to the laptop scene but I haven't seen any statistical evidence to support it, seems just typical failure rates as would be expected.
Just read that article. My head is hurting with how poorly it's written. Is AI writing everything nowadays; with someone at the end just signing it?
The big eyebrow raiser for me is the claim it's going to be the 9800X3D first. I am really surprised by that, and I would be absolutely amazed if...
I would take it with a pinch of salt in honesty. September was leaked last month. With the poor showing from the latest AMD release I thought it made sense. Then it didn't show and CES was being mentioned.
I think the potential is there, I think AMD are just weighing up their options. Whenever...
