    PCSPECIALIST Rig upgrade time

Seriously? Wow. In which case the 3080 is definitely the better option (if not the 3080 12Gb/ti) but that's a real surprise. 6800XT's have previously been cheaper, sometimes absurdly so (mine was £1200 when 3080's ranged from £1800-2400) and generally more available, then and now. Personally...

PCSPECIALIST Horizon: Forbidden West looks incredible

It's been on the list since my first couple of sessions on HZD (currently 39 hours in before house move/redecorate break but I'll get back to it soon) Obviously, if the game/port turns out awful I won't pull the trigger but... pffft c'mon, it'll be fiiine. More exclusives please Sony, ta.

    PCSPECIALIST Rig upgrade time

I'll admit I haven't checked the configurators in a while but... given that quibbling and potentials for increased cost and wait times/decreased availability due to Nvidia dicing around with various 3080's, isn't AMD an option here?

    PCSPECIALIST GPU Cabling

Ah, my bad. Still, I think I like yours more with it's carnival flavour in these dark days even though mine is lit more like the 'not yours' pic, whitey/blue but is darker overall. Looks like I'd have a bit more room between GPU and fans for a power link but tbh I can't find any details re one...

    PCSPECIALIST GPU Cabling

I just folded and tied whatever was left after routing around the cabling space as best I could into the gap between the PSU and drive cage. It's not the tidiest ever but after connecting the two ends I had 2 feet each of 2 power and 1 mobo cables to stash away somewhere. On the bright side...

    PCSPECIALIST GPU Cabling

Nice. And now I'm a little torn between leaving as is or going shopping. Again. Looks to be very beneficial for you though, with bottom fans that leave no room for resting the cables under the GPU. I have a PSU/drive cage shroud thingy for that at least, and no room for bottom fans even if I didn't.

    PCSPECIALIST GPU Cabling

I had the same issue myself with the double ended and stiff, hard to route cables packaged with Corsair PSU's. Also did what you did, buying new cable (though I got the whole kit; two 8 pin power, as well as mobo, CPU cable etc as the mobo one was thick and stiff enough to actually bend the...

    PCSPECIALIST RIP Meatloaf

Yeah, this is one of those breaking news's that slaps a bit hard. Most of them are ho hums but this was on the level of Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Dimebag and others over the years... that's the thing with your heroes I guess, especially the ones that carved a path for the others. RIP you...

PCSPECIALIST The 6500XT Is Out.... It's Pretty Embarassing

True. I've been seeing a lot of praise the last couple of days for the now comparatively ancient RX 580, which still punches well and has a legion of fans. Tbh all AMD had to do (and I hate to make it sound easy but with RDNA2's potential it wouldn't have been hard) was push out a modern...

PCSPECIALIST The 6500XT Is Out.... It's Pretty Embarassing

Yep, major misstep from AMD, this one. And it's likely to be more telling as a one off in AMD's current course against plenty more foul ups from Nvidia (not that it'll hurt 'em, they've made that bank and held that share) That's just the way this contest and consumer perception is...

    PCSPECIALIST Hitman 3

That is quite a spread but the average is very nice at 4K. Any DLSS or other tricksy biz involved? Just asking to get a good gauge on how it compares to both Hitman 2 and other things. I'm guessing my specs will look at a bit more on average at similar settings given I'm 1 or .5 (depending on...

    PCSPECIALIST G'day

Sniper Elite 3 and/or 4 might do then. The series is set behind Axis lines in WW2 but the harder game modes leave you to figure out the minutiae of sniping by yourself as well as other optional difficulty features. I haven't tried for that much realism myself for long (it can get brutal) but the...

PCSPECIALIST NVidia confirms power requirements for 3090ti

I can see Siberia being one of the places where ambient temps might help keep the heat down on RTX 40xx mining concerns. Then again, would the power infrastructure be able to keep up? As for the more casual miners, I look forward to seeing news reports of erroneous police raids on grow houses...

    PCSPECIALIST Hitman 3

That's pretty much why I held off getting into 1 and 2, aside from an intro test run with new PC. Once 3 is in my library, the whole will be back on the schedule.

    PCSPECIALIST Whats my pc like?

This TV? https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/cx-oled Looks to be beastly (that's good beastly btw) aside from a couple caveats; typical OLED burn in risk and that it's so fast it can cause stuttering in some scenarios. Both can be easily worked around and those aside, it scores great on...

My Zen loves it. Plenty of CPU there to handle years of icons 😉

    PCSPECIALIST PC Game Deals!

The Outer Worlds is tempting I'll admit. Even if I have already played 20 odd hours on XBGP, it was pretty roaring fun.

    PCSPECIALIST January 2022 releases

That explains it, sort of. Not a fan of online shooters and such unless some manner of actual team play, coop, communication and support is at the core of things. It's too free for all and chaotic otherwise. Left 4 Dead was possibly the finest example of such, and I enamoured of that one for a...

    PCSPECIALIST January 2022 releases

I actually had both XB1 and PS4 at the same time for a few months from late 2014. I ended up preferring the PS4 by far, for UI, perks and both exclusives and the better for crossplats. Sorry MS. While I missed out on others, I did get to play TLOU and it was a contender for GOAT imo. I didn't...

    PCSPECIALIST January 2022 releases

Great innit? XB exclusives is one thing (and a real mixed bag tbh) but to be getting PS ones lately, and at such quality too... I'll admit God of War has never been a big deal on my radar, even when I did have PS consoles (though the newer storyline looks more interesting) but Days Gone and HZD...
