Looking at the options available today I see there are some other options such as the Optimus Elite. However, when I access these options it takes me to the Optimus Pro.
Is this the same laptop?
Thanks. I have been reading in other threads some concerns about the fans in this model. Having said that this seems to be the best option on my budget.
Decisions, decisions!
I've had gaming PCs from PCS before but in recent times my current pc has fallen into disuse from a gaming point of view. I was going to get back into it but the location of the pc isn't ideal. I've never had a laptop before and I know that a desktop is better for gaming but I'm now thinking...
Just looking at this it has 1TB hard drive. If a pc or laptop is used purely for gaming would 512 GB be enough? I'm asking because I'm looking at my own build at the moment.
I'm looking for a laptop which can handle the latest games at a reasonable level for a few years. It's likely to get fairly light use as I am not a hard core gamer. I have a desktop pc which I use at present but it's location in my house means that I rarely play games nowadays. The laptop is...
Thanks. The bag is open to debate. We were already thinking of taking it off. Same reason we didn't have a headset on there. We can see them cheaper on Amazon. Just went for a basic cheap mouse. She can pick up something anytime if she wants anything different.
So it looks like this is what we'r are going for. Thanks to everyone who commented and made suggestions. Much appreciated. I'm hoping to get it ordered tonight. If anyone does have Any last minute suggestions they would be welcomed.

Thanks. I'll check with my daughter. I'm guessing she'll say whatever you think so no pressure there! I'm thinking the i5 processor will be fine for what she needs so I'll just put it to her as paying slightly more for a slightly lighter and more streamlined laptop.
The Cosmos is also currently out of stock until 18th May. I know that's only a couple of days but I'm wondering if the current covid situation might delay things further.
Also this. I know it was mentioned that Cosmos is a nice design but it's a little more expensive and the optimus to my uneducated eyes seems to have a better processor. As I say any opinions are valued.

Thanks for the replies so far. Options keep changing on the pc specialist site. Taking into account the advice so far I have a couple of specs to choose from. Further thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. At this point she hasn't done any gaming and from what she says it's likely to be fairly casual, just a way of connecting with some of her friends so I'm not sure doubling the RAM would be strictly necessary. Would it make that much of a difference? I wasn't sure about...
My daughter needs a new laptop to use at university. She wants to be able to do some gaming online with friends and, having once had a very basic laptop that was very very slow, she is keen on more speed. She has a budget of between £500 to £1000 and wants a laptop that will last a few years...
Back in 2011 I bought this pc. Up to now it has served me well but I have decided to upgrade the graphics card. I am not wanting anything too expensive at the moment so was thinking of the nvidia gtx 950. Can anyone see any issues I may have with the power supply or anything else or would it...
Any thoughts on this pc. Would be using various things like Adobe after effects, photoshop and possibly autodesk maya.
Had given some thought to pc using nvidia GeForce gtx 770 instead although not that interested in gaming.

I'm looking at the following specs for a new pc but have a question about the psu. On the information table about the graphics card it mentions a minimum psu requirement of 600w and I understand that the CPU I have picked can be quite power hungry. Despite his if I select a psu above 450w pc...
