Thanks I will do.
Another thing i've just noticed. when I load up a game and the benchmark actually the laptop went from being "plugged In" to being "on Battery" because the screen dimmed as it changes into battery power plan. and then came out of the game to find it saying on battery, despite...
Yeah all testing is done plugged in to the wall.
So in Control Panel under power options it's set to AMD balanced mode.
in NVIDIA Control panel power management mode is set to prefer maximum performance.
over the battery slider down in the bottom right "Plugged in" is set to the middle...
yep all done, some bluetooth, USB and drivers all installed.
Update:
So GPU works fine in benchmarks. Unigen Heaven at ultra and max tessellation in windowed mode for 10minutes. GPU 120-130 watt power draw, 1560-1900MHz clock speed. 99% utilization and 170-200fps.
but it just won't work in...
Cheers for that and apologies.
Just ran windows update until they stopped appearing.

Had the Laptop since May 2021 everything has been perfect. However, two days ago my laptop has started behaving abnormally.
The Issue:
The GPU is not receiving the standard power draw of 140watts. Instead it...
The Ionico 15 is light, compact beast of a notebook.
My model has:
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX,
GPU: RTX 3070 140w TGP,
RAM: Corsair 16 GB 2933MHz,
Display: 165Hz and 1440P at 15.6".
Battery: 62Wh (Ionico 17 has much larger 92Wh battery.
MUX: yes
Storage: 500GB Samsung 970 Evo PCIe NVMe SSD and 1TB PCS...
Hey Luc,
I use the IONICO 15 with R9 5900HX and RTX 3070
What do you want to do with the laptop?
is it going to be a mobile workstation that needs to travel with you for work and therefore be able to perform off power and be portable?
or will you be mostly using it for gaming... so plugged...
Hi there,
Just benchmarked my Ionico 15 at stock using turbo mode and dGPU (https://www.3dmark.com/fs/25597157)
Specs:
CPU: R9 5900HX
GPU: RTX 3070 (125W)
RAM: 16GB @2933MHz
Really cool look at your laptop cheers. I'm waiting on this exact spec but with different SSD config. The only thing i was worried about, was the cooling solution in such a thin and light but your GPU temps seemed reasonable and as you say i think the ryzen 5000 chips just run hot. can't wait to...
Haha that's funny. Certainly true, anecdotal evidence is always crap but there's definitely value in compiling benchmarks of real world use from the machines. needs more data ha.
But That's not to say the Ryzen Zen 3 chips have flawless security, just recently with the discovery of the bug in the Predictive store forwarding of the new chips similar to Spectre Variant 4 vulnerabilities in the Intel's. Granted, a very difficult vulnerability to exploit but people will...
I agree and I think people shouldn't be paying the massively inflated prices over MSRP for the Ryzen CPU's because of the hype and therefore demand, when they could save lots of money and still get a quality machine with an Intel based model.
I know, That's why everyone wants one! However, Yesterday the Price of a RECOIL 15.6 with Ryzen 9 5900HX and RTX 3070 with 16GB of RAM clocked at 2933MHz, a 500GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO SSD and a secondary 1TB PCS SSD was £1755 as of today that has increased to £2097 including VAT so a 19.5% increase...
it does seem the PCS website is a bit behind. As you say the chassis from tongfang all share the same motherboard and therefore IO so you'd assume it'd be DP1.4 direct to GPU and HDMI 2.1
Yeah I agree driving the 4k panel definitely need the DP1.4. There are good moderators on the forum who are usually very active and helpful. I think some are employed by PCS but not sure. I'd try @Scott @SpyderTracks @ubuysa these guys know pretty much everything there is to know about everything!
Just noticed the RECOIL models starting price has risen to £1920 from £1560 and intel I7 CPU's are not available for selection, only the Ryzen 9 5900HX.
(I Imagine the price increase is due to the lack of supply of the Ryzen chips and PCS have decided to focus only including the Ryzen CPU's in...
