Yeah, that is what I feared.
I guess these two power bricks and the desktop CPU don't exactly advertise ease of travel. Might just have to keep repackaging it and sending it with the luggage.
Yeah I have a 17.3'' one but found that it is still not quite big enough to carry the Recoil IV. But I thank you and will check out this one either way.
Hello,
I recently acquired a Recoil IV with great specs because I wanted a compromise between something relatively high-end and still portable enough for my every couple of months move lifestyle.
I thought about packing it properly and carrying it along with the rest of the luggage but I am...
I have acquired the Recoil IV as well and can confirm my temperatures also dwell between 60 and 66 on "idle" for the CPU.
I got it just moments ago. And have just finished the fresh Windows 10 install with all the driver configurations that go with it.
Edit:
After some fan adjustments and a...
Any news? I have ordered the Recoil IV just a couple of days ago. But now this review has left me with second thoughts.
I went with the I9-10850k and 144Hz screen but everything else is pretty much similar.
Exactly your eGPU's display should always be external to minimize the impact on this bottleneck.
A 4k frame should be about 265 420 800 bits per frame. At 60 fps you get 15 925 248 000 b/s plus the overhead. So ~14.83 Gb/s + overhead. If you offload some of this to an external display you save...
Just stopping by to add that the current eGPU setup's main pitfall is simply bandwidth. With the hard limit of 4x PCIe 3.0 at most (4*8 Gb/s) there comes a point where it simply is not possible to compete with the 12x to 16x you find on desktop motherboards.
Adding to that the laptop bus is...
Unfortunately either the EU steps up their regulations game or we'll end up with data mining straight out of our peripherals as a norm. I understand that the average consumer does not care about this but I think it is important to at least secure the option of having a choice. If you simply...
Thank you for your insights!
So I guess this is nothing but a pipe dream for me since I've ordered a Recoil IV with nearly top of the line specs. The only upgrade I could eventually do down the line is from i9-10850k to 10900k.
Out of curiosity. What about retrofitting the CPU to a full-blown...
I was wondering if, for chassis that run with a desktop CPU, an eventual upgrade down the line would be feasible. What is you take on this?
What about mobile GPU cards?
Thanks
I am impressed by both the readiness to help as well as the very insightful thread you have linked to. A great read to jumpstart the work day.
Thank you very much! I'll give it a proper try later today or tomorrow.
Say I requested a change to my order they'd refund the difference?
At first, I just checked the performance tab on the task manager whenever I ran into issues and found that closing the browser and other parallel tasks helped. Then I tried to upgrade my screening with MSIAB, particularly when running Anaconda environments.
Are there better ways to do this?
Thank you @steaky360. I'll bear it in mind going forward.
Whoa with those specs at that price I already regret having just bought a Recoil IV the other day.
The OS simply because you can buy it yourself possibly cheaper or transfer an existing license.
The RTX 2070 I'd say is a safe bet for...
I went for a real beast here hoping that it proves worthy of tackling VR in the long run. I hope this is not a mistake. Here is my build:
