Yeah, chosen really for the aesthetics, not really required and certainly didn't require the Hero... The first PC we ordered (last year) actually had the gigabyte Gaming X installed, We had a budget so why not fill it!
Cheers @SpyderTracks Thanks for the nice comment!... I tried a few renderings on Adobe Dimension earlier (non-overclocked)... I totally agree with that statement about Ryzen, an absolute beast! :)
Two new work PC's i configured/installed today, used (by myself and colleague) for mostly 3D CAD with Autodesk Inventor Professional but also used for AutoCAD and the Adobe CC Suite.
It took a lot of effort from me to finally convince the bean counters/IT dept not to buy another Dell.. I...
It was a long time ago i did a module in microelectronics but when we were learning about CPUs we started with the basics... It's not really about pushing 1s & 0s to the CPU... I would start learning about something like the Motorola 68000.. I can't really help more than that but i remember...
@New to this! I would suggest beefing up the graphics card as Autodesk Revit can get a bit heavy on the 3D depending on the users workflow.
Do you have a budget? how is the software used? Small or large assemblies?
Hey all,
I'm new to the forum so thought i would introduce myself a bit... I'm a mechanical design engineer that works in the aircraft industry, i also work on and design wiring systems.
I've been 'into' computers since my mum and dad bought me a 'BBC Micro' when i was a mere baby, since then...
I moved from PS4 to PC a few years ago, you're going to love it! Something i wasn't expecting is the hardest thing for me was getting used to mouse and keyboard! i kept wanting to plug the controller in but resisted... finally it payed off!
Enjoy! :D
@Oussebon I completely agree in what you've said, Lot's of different CAD applications out there that may not benefit form a Quadro card, from personal experience a lower spec Quadro can outperform a higher spec gaming card with certain workloads.
For more complex assemblies i would always favor...
The only suggestion i would make is to use a Quadro GPU with CAD applications, my experience has always been better with Entry level Quadro cards over high end gaming cards... will all depend on your budget!
Hi there, I would strongly recommend a Quadro card for CAD applications. I use Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD here at work on a Quadro (currently an M4000, Soon to be RTX 4000) For me the performance from CAD software always favors Quadro cards.
There are a few good videos on YouTube that explain...
