PCSPECIALIST Ionico Control Center Fan Settings Bugged

I have the CPU Usage/Temp display issue on my 15.6 Recoil (it just stopped working one day), but the fan profiles work as intended, so I'm leaving it alone for now. I use HWMonitor to check temperatures and it works, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the sensors.

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath. The switches themselves can be easily swapped out, and in theory they could be redesigned while keeping the point of contact at the bottom of the key (the point of contact would be harder to change, as you'd need to replace the entire keyboard). If the horizontal...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

^ Yeah, exactly. The keyboard is just bad enough for me to feel disappointed and annoyed about a laptop I spent a lot of money on (and that I otherwise love). This shouldn't happen even with the cheapest laptop. But the keyboard is also just good enough for me to feel like I can live with it...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

Received this response today: Does anyone else have this laptop but doesn't experience this issue? I'm not keen on sending it away for 6 to 8 weeks only for it to come back with a new keyboard and the same problems.

    PCSPECIALIST Concern Before Buying

I've had my 15" Recoil (RTX-3070, R9-5900HX) for a few weeks now. The Tongfang Control Center provides 3 performance profiles you can easily switch between via a dedicated keyboard button: Office, Game and Turbo. You can edit and save presets for each profile, but this is what I found using the...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

Yeah, hopefully they will have a solution. This is particularly annoying because the mechanical keyboard is supposed to be a pro, not a con. But I don't actually mind having a membrane keyboard. I don't need RGB lights either. I would be happy with the most plain keyboard imaginable, as long as...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

Still waiting for their reply, but I popped off one of the key switches, and now I know exactly what the problem is. My previous explanation was close: The metal prong (circled in red) closes a circuit when it's pushed down and results in a keystroke. The small plastic piece protruding from...

PCSPECIALIST TWO LAPTOPS COMPARRISON (I NEED HELP)

Yeah, post the configuration link! From what I can see, right now that laptop will be something like £100 more expensive than it was before. You can claw some of that money back by ordering the machine without windows and using the licence from your broken laptop on it.

PCSPECIALIST 2tb intel @670 M.2 Nvme pcie sad.

Two 1T SSDs would be cheaper and more advisable than one 2T SSD. You lose the flexibility of setting partition sizes, but both drives can operate at the same write/read speeds at the same time, and if you have an issue with one drive, it's more likely the other one will be unaffected.

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

I don't know of any mods. If anyone has any idea what we could do, that would be great. To further illustrate the issue: I think pressing the bottom half of the key works because of the metal bar across the mechanism. Whatever force is applied there is transmitted to the centre by the bar...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

I've just tested the keyboard properly again, and the issue isn't the metal wire across the mechanism, I don't think - the keys are actually held in place by 4 little pins in the middle. Other than the wobbliness of the keys, the main issue is that the keystrokes are extremely unreliable unless...

PCSPECIALIST New Recoil Series Laptop 15" keys unresponsive

I have a new 15.6" Recoil too, and I really like the rest of the laptop, but the keyboard is by far the greatest disappointment. I also have a PCSpecialist Vortex from 2014, and its keyboard is so much better. The problem isn't that it is a mechanical keyboard - I use a separate mechanical...

PCSPECIALIST If you're having troubles reinstalling the THX Spatial Surround app

This solution didn't work for me. "Add or remove programs" had two THX entries on my laptop: THX Spatial Audio, and THX Audio Drivers. The former could be uninstalled without issues, but the latter gave me a missing .exe error and remained there. Deleting the keys from the registry as indicated...

Yeah, that was the first thing I did! But I've uninstalled it now, just in case.

    PCSPECIALIST 15.6" Recoil

I only installed Malwarebytes after writing this post, and I only used it to run one scan. I'm very positive the live scan feature is not on (I only have the premium version because they give you a trial upon first install).

The memory dump file exists, but it's from 2 days ago - I think is related to the time I accidentally disconnected an external hard drive. No minidumps from the last couple of days either. I think these are the relevant event logs, sorted from newer to older. Level Date and Time Source Event...

    PCSPECIALIST 15.6" Recoil

Thank you! This does seem to have improved it a lot - out of 5 times it went to sleep, it only froze once. The one time it froze was when I left it asleep for longer (about 3 minutes), but even then it did wake up (I could move the cursor, see my background and desktop icons, but couldn't click...

    PCSPECIALIST 15.6" Recoil

I've recently received my new laptop with the following specs: First I'd like to say that I do not regret buying this laptop at all. It works wonderfully with anything I throw at it. Video and photo processing, games, etc - everything works perfectly so far. It is exactly what I needed and...
