I've got an install from USB/Lan that does 99% of all the 'junk' I install anyhow, just keep the OS build up to date on it, and Choco takes care of most everything else, so never takes me any effort, just time with it sat there doing its own thing. I, however, have so much stuff I need to...
Doubt they will have older processors as obviously they build to order, so keeping older chassis around doesn't make a lot of sense. It might be worth calling/mailing see if they do, however, as you never know.
Well they are not showing as out of stock if you go to order now, or at least the 2060 and 2070super arent, hopefully mine goes into build shortly then :)
Wouldn't trust anyone with an install to be honest, even hp/dell/eom of your choice, as its always full of garbage anyhow, but was just saying, a Windows install should work nowadays anyhow, if it stable enough to use for testing it should run fine for an end user. But I do agree it should be re...
The GDDR6 on the Gpu means it's the refreshed 2070, the originals where GDDR5, basically the only difference, allows lower voltage to the ram, and slightly less latency, where most of the improvements come from, but really only see any difference in laptops and not the desktop parts as they...
Fair enough, although can't see why it would be unstable if its just a Windows install, personally I always re-install fresh, usually on a 6-12 month schedule anyhow. Just thought might be easier for people not ofey with it.
The laptop will come with windows installed, just not activated from pcs (perfectly legal) so unless you really want to fresh install then do as sudgested above, but no need to faf with old windows drive at all. Your license is digitally attached to your Microsoft account.
AMD still aren't the be all and end all in gaming, as they still have a couple of issues to resolve with lag between their chiplets, but with the Xbox and Ps5 using them, I'm sure we will see workarounds for the 1% and 0.1% issues they have
If I could have gone over to AMD this time I would, but needed a machine I can travel with so that's the DTR machines out, and the Ryzen 4000 won't have a good gpu for a while yet, so 10th gen intel it is then. But if I built a new desktop at the moment to replace my dual Xeon one, it would be...
In performance it looks like it's as good and better in most situations, it's a base 10w part hence the low clocks, but will boost up beyond its 10w base clock to its 4.2ghz single core boost and 3.8ghz multicore or 4ghz dual thread boost.
It's actual standard operating speed is 2.1-3.8ghz at...
Not the be all and end all of benchmarks, but it is between 1 and 25% better performance, but only really shows its performance when all core OC is done on it.

Agreed with what the guys said, don't do the 16xx series cards, stick to the rtx cards, the 2060 without the RT cores in use is still a good 15%+ better than 1660ti, and DLSS 2 is looking to improve performance in newer games significantly, and that needs the RTX cards to do it.
Also remember...
Can format it after your up and running, no issues there, and no real need to do it now. As for the license and stuff, just make sure your logged into your Windows machine, launch Settings app > Update & Security > Activation page.
The Activation status should say if your license is linked to...
The 5.1ghz boost, is single (or dual on i9's) core only, and then only for the TAU times (can't remember what the 10700 and 10875 limit that too, might be 56 sec) and even then only when within the TVB constraints..... So long story short, if your running anything multi threaded, then you won't...
Steam downloads are pretty cpu heavy if you look, as it's doing decrypt and unpack as it streams data down, also remember if you even close to maxing out your network card that will eat cpu time too, as a lot of the network process is in software (via drivers) nowadays.
If you want to baseline...
16gb unless your using photoshop/premiere/davince will be fine. As for a 256gb boot drive, any particular reason? If you do have reason then that's fine, just doesn't add anything in reality besides if you don't know how Windows manages its installs and management then could get full very...
If the drive will fit in the chassis then sure, no issue at all. So has to be a 2.5" sata 2/3 drive and you should be ok.
As for license yeah lots of people got the freebie from 7/8 days, the digital license should work fine as long as its not in use elsewhere.
