Thanks!
That's a good point, though I only mentioned it since these were a bit trickier to find. The adapter was originally designed by AMD and MediaTek in tandem but neither of those companies had easy-to-find driver pages for it. I'd probably only do it as a last resort in that case.
With...
Ok, so the problem is now fixed. After installing the updates for windows, I restarted the PC and still no jazz. It could find the networks perfectly fine, but absolutely refused to connect to them.
I eventually stumbled across the most up-to-date drivers on this webpage here...
Thanks again Spyder.
The cables are quite stretched trying to reach over the body of the GPU, so only the two 6+2 pins can fit in easily while the 8 pins are potentially getting bent quite a bit. Would it be better to get a PCIe extension cable instead of risking bending the cables too much do...
PCS have only given me two sets of cables but each one seems to be comprised of an 8-pin and an additional 6+2 pin. Am I safe to plug any three of these into the GPU as it is?
Oh, there are other versions of this GPU that don't have 3 connectors (only 2) and they work fine. Getting the cables to bend into all three slots might be difficult but I'll give it a go. Thanks.
Oh, I guess the updated spec didn't go through into the original order. The motherboard is the ASUS TUF with WiFi.
I connected the monitor to the motherboard because it wasn't detecting through the GPU which I installed myself. I am wanting to believe that it's because there are no drivers on...
It wouldn't connect to my mobile, same issue as a normal network.
Connected it with an ethernet cable and jimmied it into working so the main PC now has an internet connection.
Now to install a bunch of stuff and then find out why my GPU isn't being detected...
Ah I should add that the signal...
I don't have an ethernet connection available to me currently as the accommodation is shared and the router is on the bottom floor, whereas I am on the top floor...
Is it possible to ship updates over on a USB stick or something like that?
New build arrived yesterday, setting it up today. I installed the antenna onto the PC as instructed and it seems to partially work since it will detect all the networks around me.
However, when trying to join any network at all it waits for about 10 seconds and then tells me that it "can't...
The TUF seems to be on pre-order so I think I'll go with the Prime if it's not going to be too big of an issue.
Thanks again Spyder. Hopefully, this is the last time I'll have to come back for advice on this whole thing!
Welp, embarrassed to be back yet again but now PCS is telling me that the Gigabyte X gaming motherboard is no longer in stock either, also with no ETA for restocking. Kind of annoying once again, I hope I'm not going to have to slowly go through each component as they successively run out of...
Thanks, I did consider the H115i instead (which was my original plan) so maybe that's for the best.
I was looking up the specs just now and it seems like the Elite versions don't have as high fan speed or airflow. But I'm not sure how big of a deal that is and whether or not it's better to...
Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm now faced with a slight issue. Totally happy with the corrections above, but now PCS are saying that they're out of the h150i Capellix coolers, with no ETA on when they will come back in stock. Annoying since I placed the order over a week ago and spent the...
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep an eye out for their videos and hopefully, I'll be able to understand the differences between the boards haha.
So does this basically mean that the additional slots for the PCIe5 support aren't that important? I remember seeing something about the switch from...
Thanks! From reading around a bit it seems like the additional PCIe 5.0 slot on the 'E' motherboards don't seem too important right now? I'm not really sure about the VRM stuff though. I guess just comparing the boards against each other might be the best bet.
Thanks again!
