PC can't connect to any wireless networks (but can detect them)

Ok, so the problem is now fixed. After installing the updates for windows, I restarted the PC and still no jazz. It could find the networks perfectly fine, but absolutely refused to connect to them.

I eventually stumbled across the most up-to-date drivers on this webpage here: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?124328-DRIVERS-AMD-MediaTek-WiFi-Bluetooth

And after installing these new drivers the WiFi works perfectly fine.

I don't know if this page will get cached for people searching in the future, but anyone has a RZ608 WiFi 6E 80 MHz adapter and it isn't connecting to a network, get the most recent drivers in the link above, this is version dated 28/09/2022. Alternatively, I've also seen people use CCleaner to automatically find them.

Now on to the GPU issue.
Good find, well done (y)

But it's not recommended to use any auto updaters for drivers as they almost always cause problems, there's no way they can know the right driver to install, as manufacturers aren't contributing to their database.

For any driver update, always go to the manufacturer website.

Thanks!

That's a good point, though I only mentioned it since these were a bit trickier to find. The adapter was originally designed by AMD and MediaTek in tandem but neither of those companies had easy-to-find driver pages for it. I'd probably only do it as a last resort in that case.

With regards to the GPU, adding the third power connector has now made it appear as a default Windows Adapter under the display adapter part of device manager, where there was only the AMD iGPU before, so that's promising at least. I'm installing Nvidia drivers now so hopefully it will detect and identify the GPU properly 🙏

Yeah, it will be fine now with installing driver direct from AMD / NVidia
