RAM timings and settings involve a large number of variables - literally dozens of settings within BIOS. If XMP is enabled it loads all these specs from the info held on the RAM DIMM itself and adjusts everything accordingly. I'd wonder if the suite of settings from your original RAM just don't...
The standard DDR4 voltage is 1.2V. Enabling XMP or DOCP raises that voltage to the more typical 1.35V in order to allow it achieve stability at the rated speed on the box. The second set above is shown this way by Corsair themselves - base reference voltage of 1.2V but tested up to 1.35V and it...
Sounds good.
FWIW, I do think better overall results could be achieved with PBO and the Curve Optimiser. And most likely at a decently lower power draw. But while your lower core count performance would be helpfully bumped you likely wouldn’t see much gain, if any, over the 4.55 GHz all core...
Hi there!
The 5950X operates up to a max boost of 4.9 GHz according to Ryzen. That highest number is a single core boost value only and doesn't indicate the frequency the CPU will operate at when many or all cores are fully tasked. So you'll see 4.9 GHz (actually more like 5.05 or even a little...
I have a Ryzen 5600X and a 4GB Nvidia GTX 1650. My graphics card choice was budget limited of course, but was ultimately perfectly adequate for what I really needed it for which was Photoshop and Lightroom in particular.
I can play FS 2020 with it - however with middle of the road to lower end...
Love it!
Also, I can use that to blame everyone else for ruining my intelligence when they enter the room. "The only people in here were experts - until you arrived!  "
Actually - just found this bit of info in your link Spyder:
That basically means I won't be able to use it at all.
Incidentally, I have decided that if it takes an adult to screw up something that is childproof, then it takes a genius to screw up something that is foolproof. By...
If that were true though @ubuysa, then I should at Einstein level intelligence by now. 😃
The damage done to my fingers this morning while trying to fix a tap would suggest otherwise sadly.......
Thanks @sck451 - yes I've been away from a while - needed to clean the psychological dust build-up for a while too......
Yes I could see the RGB, but I now realise it wasn't very bright! 😃
This morning I realised I hadn't cleaned my machine in a long time - maybe 3 months or so. I was more than a little shocked when I opened up the front!
I'm surprised I could see any RGB at all to be honest!! The PSU filter on the 220T was doing it's job also it seems. We have hard...
Agree with @Bigfoot above. I have 32GB of RAM and have so far been unable to break it with some rather crazy experiments involving both Lightroom and Photoshop at the same time - mostly pointlessly big photomerges and exports and so on.
Lightroom is the Hungry Horace of the two - it basically...
Fantastic Mr Cooper! Isn't Nature an amazing thing!!!
When you put the pictures together the resemblance is uncanny don't you think?
I hope Mrs Cables is doing and feeling well sir! All the very best to you three! Oh, forgot the cats actually - you five then I guess it is..... (y) (y)
I had previously been using the Night Light feature in Windows 10 to take the edge of the screen in the evenings - which is nice in itself - but this is exactly what I was after.
