Would this work? (It's a Dell P2217H)
1 x DP (ver 1.2)
1 x HDMI (ver 1.4)
1 x VGA
1 x USB 3.0 port - Upstream
2 x USB 3.0 ports - Side
2X USB 2.0 – bottom.
My pc spec includes the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 graphics card.
I'm thinking of purchasing a second hand Dell monitor with these connections: "VGA (Analog), DVI-D (Digital) x 1 with HDCP"
Is that compatible with the outputs of my graphics card?
Appreciate any advice,
Thanks, Tim
Thanks all. I don't have too much space, so from what I gather above, 22" sounds suitable. As for brands, Nursemorph mentioned Asus - any other good brands you guys like?
MK450 sounds good - thanks Scott.
That just leaves Bluetooth speakers. Again, I need as small as possible. Any thoughts...
Thanks, Scott! I have ordered as above. Do you have any suggestions for a keyboard for Premiere and a small, 18" monitor? If possible I'd try to get a used one from Ebay.
Thanks again for you help,
Tim
Here is my draft spec for editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
I am very, very new at this so any thoughts would be most welcome.
Thanks! Tim
Case
FRACTAL FOCUS G BLACK GAMING CASE (Window)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Eight Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.4GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)...
Thanks so much for replying. Good luck with the new machine and looking forward to hearing how you get on. I'm using your spec as a 'Guinea pig' before I take the plunge! Are you on FB by chance?
Jonald - Do you have your machine yet? I also need a laptop for editing and After Effects work, so I'd love to know how you got on with yours.
Thanks, Tim
I'm just wondering about cooling. Desktop pcs with similar processing seem to have multiple fans, radiators etc, so is the cooling system in a laptop really up the job?
(btw, I'm asking here because I'd like to follow a similar route for a machine for After Effects and editing work)
Thanks, Tim
Hi, I'm in a similar position - need a budget pc for After Effects and Premiere. So wondering how you got on with yours? Did you buy? How has it worked out?
Hope you have a moment to let me know! Tim
