This would be pretty powerful. I would give PCS a call and ask them when the 2x16GB 3200Mhz sets are coming back in stock. Won't make a huge difference but there's little price difference and every little does help :)

Thanks, Scott! I have ordered as above. Do you have any suggestions for a keyboard for Premiere and a small, 18" monitor? If possible I'd try to get a used one from Ebay.
Thanks again for you help,
Tim

The MK540 is a good combo set IMO. I use it in work and it has a nice professional feel to it.

If you were wanting to set up macros for shortcuts then a gaming keyboard may be warranted. I wouldn't worry too much though, just go with what you like the look of :)

No idea on a monitor though. 18" is a strange size.

For the monitor, something like this perhaps?

ASUS monitor

ASUS usually make decent monitors
But it's 760p..... really really awful by any standards.

18" won't get you a usable pixel ratio, it's just unworkable.

22" you may be able to squeeze in for 1080p, but even that is going to be a poor experience for design and editing workflows.

Is there any reason it needs to be 18"

Thanks all. I don't have too much space, so from what I gather above, 22" sounds suitable. As for brands, Nursemorph mentioned Asus - any other good brands you guys like?
MK450 sounds good - thanks Scott.
That just leaves Bluetooth speakers. Again, I need as small as possible. Any thoughts?

(I've just quit working at a broadcast station where I was using their kit. Now setting up at home - hence all these questions!)

This looks ok for 22", it's a Dell 1080p but has good colours according to reviews. Anything under 24" is going to be budget, it's quite a niche market.

Is there a reason you need bluetooth speakers and not just standard wired speakers? Just wondering as it bumps the price up a lot - what's the budget for the speakers?

Just trying to reduce desktop clutter. But could go with wired speakers too. Any brands you like?

If you want decent sound quality, it's worth getting something with a sub:

These are bluetooth, and really decent sound but obviously the price reflects this:

Then you have Edifiers which are supposed to be very good also, again, bluetooth:

Or wired:
