PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

I don't know if it's an IR camera or what that is, but the face login thing works (when I'm wearing my glasses anyway, it hasn't figured that out yet lol)

Oh the face login thing. Yeah that worked out of the box. Didn't realise that was what you were talking about! @TheMash

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Hi, @TheMash, happy to share some thoughts. I had a superb experience with PCS in terms of delivery time and keeping me updated. I had the laptop within 5 working days of order, which I thought was sensational. I ordered on Friday, got it the *following* Saturday. They gave me regular updates...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Alright I re-loaded the drivers, put the new nvidia one in there and it all seems fixed now. Will update once I've done some proper testing

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Thanks, that's exactly the one I ended up downloading following PCS instructions. Let's see how it goes

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Nope still giving me 442.53. PCS responded, told me to reinstall drivers so that's what I'll do now. Will report back, thanks for the advice!

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

I got the nvidia "geforce experience" app and it says my current driver is the latest "game-ready" app. Should I try to manually install a different driver?

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Thanks will do. Again, I'm assuming drivers will be fine with PCS warranty as it would be weird if they were not. If that's not the case someone stop me please lol

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Ah okay thanks, shall I go ahead and just download the latest one from the nvidia website? Do I need to do anything special to uninstall the old one? I am assuming installing new graphics drivers won't threaten my warranty in any way.

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Nvidia control panel software is saying 442.53, which is what the machine must have come with. I opted for PCS windows and drivers install.

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Update: THE DAMN THING CRASHED. Was playing total war and it blue screened, message was something about a "GPU KRNL crash". Upon restart it no longer detects the graphics card, device manager does not list graphics card. I have contacted PCS.

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 review - fast with well balanced thermals and fans.

Hi there, Just received my Vyper 17! For the sake of brevity I won't post the full specs, but to cut a long story short it's got a 2070 super, 16gb of the 2666 ram (2x8), 512gb sdd, and the upgraded thermal paste. My impressions are that it is a well built machine that offers unbelievable...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17.3 *vs* Recoil IV 15.6

So having seen some very favourable reviews for the Recoil IV chassis recently, I have stepped back to reassess my previous decision to buy a 17 inch Vyper. My budget is a hard £1700 limit, so with 16GB of ram and a 2070 super the two machines are roughly the same price. Is anyone able to...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 2070 super build

Thanks, yep I'm now considering the Recoil simply on the basis of better cooling from the thicker chassis. However having looked closer at the performance it seems the benchmark results - timespy etc - are very similar with a sligtht edge going to the vyper, possibly due to a higher thermal...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 2070 super build

One thing I'll say is that the 15.6 recoil is a compelling alternative, which some like Jarrod tech suggest outperform the Fusion chassis. I'd be giving up some screen space which is a big deal, but gaining better thermals and performance. I believe it's the Tongfang GM5MPHW chassis, although I...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 2070 super build

I've read reviews fairly extensively and am fairly confident that there are no better options for a 2070 at this price point. I'd be using it on office mode most of the time, gaming/turbo when I was in a good situation with noise cancelling headphones and a coolpad. If I wanted a 2060 I'd look...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 2070 super build

Hah the budget was supposed to be £1500, but I figured the 2070 super was probably worth it to extend the life of the machine a bit so I am already way over budget. Planning on using it for gaming, specifically total war and Baldur's Gate 3. The reason I am forking out for a 2070 is I'd like...

PCSPECIALIST Vyper 17 2070 super build

Hi there, Build below. I went for slower ram because as far as I can tell the actual performance difference is realtively small, and a smaller hard drive to save money as I won't have more than 2 games on it at any given time. Thoughts? Chassis & Display Vyper Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD...

PCSPECIALIST Laptop rtx 2070 vs 2070 super

Hello, did you find any good comparisons of the two cards? Debating this same question myself right now.
