Or maybe the OP's pump cap is the standard one with a different RGB setting?
I'll try to replace my cap tomorrow to see what the transparent one looks like. Thanks for the tip - I would've never known it was in the box.
I didn't even know that was a thing until you told me about it. Went to check my welcome pack and yep - a transparent corsair pump cap!
What does the inside look like?!
EDIT: oh wait, you've already fitted the transparent one. Looks good!
5000D Airflow here too! It's a monster! I replaced the two stock 120mm front fans with two ML140s, but I can see you tripled up on the front fans. Nice.
Just to update, I went into the bios and could see the SATA HDD, so I went into the advanced bios settings and enabled Hot Plug for the SATA port into which the HDD was plugged, restarted the system and there it was in Windows.
Nice.
Hi,
I received my new PC today and it ran great while all the updates and drivers were being installed.
I tried to connect a SATA HDD from my old system (using SATA power from the psu and data from the mobo) to move some files over but it isn't recognised. Any ideas?
Case
CORSAIR 5000D...
I'd call them. It sometimes takes a while to get someone on the other end, but it's better than sending emails - which can take days for a reply.
My system was in testing for less than a day, awaiting dispatch for a couple.
Yeah, I think up to a 360mm AIO will fit in the front of either case. It was more specifically about having one on the top. Low-profile RAM (and some non-RBG) or a mobo with slightly lower RAM slots and it shouldn't be an issue in a 4000D. Definitely not going to be an issue in the 5000D...
Good news about the benefits of having a newer gen cooler, and hopefully it'll help keep the cpu cool even when being boosted.
Also, I've realised I made a mistake with my original post.
It's the 4000D that can have issues with a 280mm top AIO. The 5000D has much more headroom.
I guess made...
Awesome, thanks guys. Might as well eat the £20 and buy the newer gen one.
I should've done this 2 days ago before the £5 amendment fee was added.
Don't be like me!
Yeah, I don't plan on spending too much time looking inside the case, so I'm more interested in cooling vs price.
You think the extra £20 is worth it for the commander core and new pump? I don't plan on overclocking other than the AMD Boost (automatic?).
Does the commander plugging into a USB...
Cool, I'll order the ML ones instead.
I like having two intakes at the front (blue if possible) and AIO exhaust up top. It's as close to my Antec 900 as it can, and that's the rig I'm replacing and will miss!
Do you know the difference between the H115i Pro XT and the H115i Elite Capellix?
The Pro XT over the Elite Capellix? Is there much difference between the two (other than about £20)?
The two 140mm case fans I'm looking at are
Corsair AF140 Air Series, 140 mm LED Low Noise Cooling Fan
on Amazon.
Thanks for the info, guys. I really appreciate it!
So I should upgrade back to the H115i and drop the expensive paste?
I'm not really fussed about fan hub controllers (or RGB fans), because I don't plan on having more than 3 case fans (2 front 1 rear) and two top AIO fans, assuming this...
Yeah, I read in a few places that it wasn't always possible to install a top 280 mm AIO in the 5000D due to space restrictions, so I downgraded to a 240mm just to be sure.
Had I been building the system myself, I would've ordered a 280mm and tried my luck but I didn't want to delay my build...
