144Hz/1440p Spec

I have built all of my previous PCs over the years and this would be my first time buying one through a site like this. My current PC hasn't been upgraded since I built it in 2014 (except for adding SSD) and I'm a bit out of touch with current generations of GPU's and CPU's etc. Thought I would post a spec I've made through the site and see if there are suggestions to improve it by adding or removing any of my options.

Just so you know my requirements. I have bought an Acer Predator XB271HUA 144Hz G-SYNC monitor and am looking to finally move on from barely getting 60fps / 1080p. Also caring more about framerate than resolution, but with the refresh rate of the monitor and its resolution, I'm obviously not looking for 4K capabilities, but high framerate and 1440p. Clearly using for gaming, but I also use programs like Pro Tools and Visual Studio 2015, but nothing I thought was really worth jumping to 32GB of RAM for...would not be needed in my own opinion.

I had to add a drive to the spec otherwise it wouldn't let me progress with it, but I'll be taking over a Samsung Evo SSD with Windows 10, a Hynix M.2 512GB, and a WD 2TB Black HDD from my current PC. Other things like speakers (2.1), controllers, headsets, mouse, keyboard etc are all covered.

So, I'm hoping you can spot if I've went overboard anywhere, or if something isn't quite up to the task. Thanks for any help!

Do you think the Master is overkill? I had been reading comparisons online with the Hero motherboard, but perhaps that too is a bit beyond what I need. Do you have a recommendation?

As for RAM, do you think the performance boost would be significant?

For the SUPER, I could only see 2060 and 2070 SUPER cards in configuration, will 2080 be added later or do I need to pick a different configuration page to get that option?

Yes, that's beyond what you need.

I've seen the same / similar comparisons, and would too avoid to Hero on that basis if shopping in that price range. However, the AORUS Pro is also extremely capable, with decent VRM temps from the views I've seen, and should be more than adequate for your needs. It's packed pretty full of features. So the question to ask yourself is what you need off the Master that the Pro does not provide?

As for RAM, do you think the performance boost would be significant?

Significant? In a few titles, sure. In some, probably not. Do I think it's worth investing £7/£11 respectively when buying a £2000 gaming PC for those occasions where it will pep up performance? Absolutely!

It's not released yet. Reviews of the GPU will be out on 23rd July, and short of a natural disaster PCS will probably have it on sale then too.

Great, I'll definitely change to the Pro. It's dropped the price down a bit too. I had a feeling based on reviews I was reading that the Master was a bit over the top.

Haha yeah that's a good point. I often forget how little the price difference is when it comes to memory speeds. If I'm spending upwards of £1800 then it's a bit of a no brainer to be honest. Changed that to 3000Mhz as well.

Yes, the homepage has the Configure page and does say 2080 Super, so it seems they are inbound. I'll finalise the spec then when they get added.
