17'3 & 3080 for render

Hello everyone, i have a budget of 2600 euros and i'm looking for a laptop for render and archi, sadly i did not really understood all those topic about gpu difference of power so if someone have time to help me it will be really nice !

I don't need a good screen, i'll pair the laptop with a Mateview GT 34' and a Dell Ultrasharp 38'. But still need 17' when i'm out of the desk ^^' (if there is a better one in my range of price i'm totally fine with a 15'6 too)

I don't need so much storage since i mostly use external hard drives, 500GB should be enough.

I have no problem with portability and i'm not looking for specific chassis.

I need 32GB of ram but i'm fine to upgrade it if it's not available.

So my actual choice is between 17'3 Ionico with i7 11800H/3080/32 ram or 17'3 Defiance with i7 11800h/3080 max-q/64 ram:

Does the max-q of the Defiance interesting in my case ?

Hello,

I really not sure what your software need to be fully exploited.
Can you tell me if they are more processor demanding or graphic card demanding ?

Will you use it for game ?

Do you need good battery life or the laptop will be plugged all the time ?

Just so you now, those 2 chassis run very hot (it's not that they are bad, just, as they are thin, they will be hot)

and finaly, where are you from ? to select the right country while spec'ing you something ^^"

I think its balanced between GPU/CPU since there is a lot of software that i use.
If we juste take AutoDesk for exemple , here is the spec:

So, performance wise, i think this is the best laptop you could chose (the recoil is over your budget)

I know this is a 15" laptop and it has a 3070, but you have a full powered desktop amd 9 5900x cpu
(it's a desktop replacement instead of a "laptop")

for the ssd, i know you said you don't need more than 500go, but, it's a good habit to have 2 in fact (one for os, software and file you're using) and a second one to save everything else)
and as this chassis has a pcie4 port, the samsung 980pro is the must have (so, the 1to is the best option here ^^)

If the laptop is mainly going to be used with CAD , I would advise against a GeForce card as their drivers are gaming focused . Instead I would look for a nVidia RTX A4000 or A5000 as their drivers are aimed towards those software and the performance will be better and more stable .
Now I don`t know if PCS offers such laptops , but if I`m not gaming at all , then a professional GPU is a better pick.

Thanks for the advise, you are absolutely right , sadly i'm bit ot of budget for those kind of configuration i guess. (i only know about MSI workstation which are pretty expensive)

PCS have some workstation with quadro i guess since it's typed :

"Dedicated Nvidia® GeForce™ or Nvidia® Quadro™ graphics for high performance."

But actually they don't offer them.
