4 beeps on start-up (1 long, 3 short) then blank screen. Any help appreciated!

Machine only 12 months old but recently developed the beeping error codes, with this morning the screen failing to boot.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

check the graphics card is properly seated and that all the cables for the monitor are plugged in properly, what cable are you using to connect, HDMI or DP

I've moved the HDMI into another port and now it works perfectly, beeps removed.
Don't know enough to understand why, but in case someone else comes along with similar problem, might help them

That's the motherboard port which is used for integrated graphics, but your system doesn't have those and has a dedicated GPU, so you have to plug it into that.

That motherboard port has no gpu attached.

...and goes to show that the 'silly questions' that tech support people always ask, are not always so silly...as you can't assume the user would remember that they'd just moved the machine and put the cables back in different ports!
