A Couple of Curious Configurator Issues

So I just made my first PCS order yesterday, and I noticed a couple of strange things when ordering.

It turned out a few of my options were out of stock. No big deal, they're still selectable, I can wait a while. I've read on this forum while searching plenty of times that people have ordered out of stock parts. Except clicking proceed it only told me hey, this is out of stock, and this is when it'll be back, we advise changing or you'll have a delay.

And that was it - I didn't see any way to actually get past that message, I could only change to something that was in stock. Did I miss something? Is there a secret option to proceed anyway, way down the webpage, or in small text or something? The big green proceed button absolutely would not let me past until I had a fully in stock order (which is funny really, considering I absolutely know neither the CPU nor GPU are in stock, so I'll be waiting anyway!)

The other couple of issues I had were a mismatch between what I know a part to be, and what PCS insists a part is. I selected the AX850 PSU, because I needed a big dependable PSU anyway, and the RMx 850 was out of stock. But PCS seems to think that's a 1000W PSU? That would be the AX1000, which they also have.

And I couldn't select any of the H115i coolers to go in the Lancool 2, because despite the front supporting the full set of 240/280/360mm rads, PCS insist it will only take a 240mm. Do they only top mount their radiators? That's the only thing I can imagine being the reason, because it's the only place you could feasibly mount a rad on that case that only fits a 240mm.

I went through with the order anyway, because they had by far the most unified parts selection of any system builder I checked, and all pretty good parts too! But was this a fairly usual experience, to have the configurator be a bit... Cranky, for want of a better word? I want to reiterate I'm otherwise happy with my order, and I'm sure I can sort the out of stock parts with a phonecall. I just though some of the process was a bit... Odd, so I figured I'd come here and ask you forum guys if that's normal.

Spec from my order page, absent the price for whatever reason.

Nursemorph: 'Works better' is a bit subjective with the radiators, it depends whether you preference CPU or general parts cooling. A front mounted radiator cools the CPU better by radiating into cool air, at the cost of blowing warm air at the GPU. Top mount doesn't blow warm at the GPU, at the cost of sucking already warm air into the radiator, raising CPU temps instead.

Oh interesting, looks like the case isn't even there any more, at least not when I click that link. Guess that's out of stock now too?

But you can still see, if you try to select the 1TB 980 Pro instead of the 1TB 970 Evo Plus, and a case that supports the rest of my config (the last one, minus the ARGB strip for example), that you cannot at all proceed with an order for a part that's currently out of stock. It'll just bounce you back, telling you to select something else. How has everyone else that I've seen managed it? Have all the stock references I've seen just been about things going out of stock after the order has been placed?

My apologies for the repeated messages, but I just had a go at amending the order, and this time it absolutely let me select the part that I know to be out of stock on the main configurator. Interesting then - you can amend to an out of stock part, but evidently not start with one.

Like I say, it doesn't matter to me that the part (the SSD) won't be in until December, because I'm likely waiting until after Christmas for the GPU anyway.

I’ve too had problems with the configurator.

I’ve got the ASUS Crosshair on order, previously was the Maximus before I changed to AMD.

I somewhat cannot add a second M.2 drive. So I’ve had to go for a SATA SSD then the two traditional HDDs.
