I bought my fourth PC Specialist laptop (one got crushed, two others for the kids) three years ago. This month, a number of keys on the keyboard stopped working, so I arranged for a repair, happy to pay... but it seems PC Specialist no longer stocks the keyboard. They gave me companies in the US I could source versions of it from, and a page from a manual to replace the keyboard which was sadly beyond my mental ability to comprehend.
I have no idea how to prevent such a thing from occurring in the future apart from going with an inferior company or inefficient bloated mainstream models but with more standard and replaceable parts.
I wish I was better at this stuff. Today I just feel very sad.
