Advice for a desktop spec. Any help appreciated

Hi there anyone who stumbles across this post.

Firstly a forward thank you to anyone who posts here offering me advice, it's appreciated.
I've decided to finally go out and attempt to purchase a desktop mainly for gaming as i am making a switch from consoles to PC (or at least that is the plan)
However in my excitement of finally committing to that goal, I went and threw together a desktop without really seeking advice first. it was only after the order was placed that I realized I could be making/have made a big mistake. The aim of this post is to hopefully amend my order in any way that is needed before the build takes place to avoid any issues with the build itself (the order was placed yesterday).

Here are the specifications.

1. Budget - The total cost of this came to around 1,600euro incl. VAT if possible I would prefer to keep the budget to a similar figure. if absolutely needed it could be stretched to 2,000 (I must add there is a monitor included in the build which costs around 350euro)
2. This is a desktop that is going to be used for gaming. I am planning on starting with a game called SWTOR, along the same line as WoW. I will play other games hopefully but not super interested in the competitive high end FPS genre to be honest. No music production, streaming or video editing planned.
3. The monitor that is going with this build is a IIYAMA G-MASTER GB2760QSU-B1 27 with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 @ 144Hz ( 3.7 megapixel) and adds 334euros to the cost of the build.

Ideally the build would be able to run a game such as SWTOR on near max/ultra settings if applicable/within the budget constraints. Sorry if any details were left out
I'm quite new to the whole PC aspect and posting in general.

Thanks for your time.

There's no reason you should go with Intel. Currently AMD is the best performance for money.

I'd strongly recommend reading the link below and considering to cancel the order or contacting PCS by phone (expect long waiting time) to change to AMD. Best is just to cancel and make a new build base on AMD.

Your above Intel seems rather unbalanced - good cpu, but 1050Ti even 2 years ago wasn't achieving above 60fps for most games in 1080p. Your monitor you've chosen is 1440p and you need a much better gpu. I see no point in buying a new gaming pc with old parts (except if you'll play exceptionally older or very old games, in that case maybe worth to wait for 3060 GPU as it should be released soon - it will be cheaper than 3060Ti, mainly for 1080p but for older games could be ok even for 1440p gaming and is still not embarrassing to recommend).

5600X is a great gaming cpu.

I haven't included a monitor - you may want to look around. There's a good thread for monitors in this forum.

I also dropped other peripherals as you can find them somewhere else cheaper or add yourself later on.

I picked much faster RAM as AMD CPUs gain better performance of it, also two slots rather than one.

Your storage choice 500GB is very poor. It will get full quickly with Windows updates and your software and games, and what's then? SSDs tend to loose performance and lifespan when are full 75-80%. So I picked 1TB M.2 SSD and 2TB HDD, but you may reconsider and change HDD to SSD or something around with that.

GPU - 3060Ti - this is a proper 1440p gaming GPU. 1050Ti was a good attempt, pal, but maybe not today ;) Could you mention more games you'll play so we have a wider picture?

PSU - you want your PC parts to be powered with a proper good quality power supply which will last all of the PC lifetime and be quiet with space for future GPU upgrades, right? Upped to a fully modular 850W. You can swap to 750W, but it's just a difference of a few ice cream portions.

Cooler? If you won't be streaming or heavily editing - don't need an aftermarket cooler for 5600X Cpu as a stock cooler comes together and it's good enough.

Changed a much older tech wifi N to newer AX which also comes with a Bluetooth.

Also, got rid of Bullguard - there's better antivirus solution you could find, or simply your a combination of careful/cautious+brain+Windows Defender which is free and comes with Win 10=decent safety.

First off thanks for replying.

Yes some of the parts for this PC were picked from the 'choose your game' list on this website. I added a few upgraded parts myself but to be honest I wasn't so sure of what I was doing.

Just in relation to your 1st comment, would you recommend I phone to cancel? I see an option to amend my order and as my order has not even begun process of building yet I thought there would be no problems there? aside from paying any extra cost of course.

Some more games that I would play - sure, I'd probably play some of the sims 4, state of decay 2, Star wars battlefront 2 (new version) hrmmm.. Warhammer 40K Darktide when it releases, maybe some For Honor alongside SWTOR and maybe trying my hand at a few more MMO's if I had the extra time. I wouldn't imagine that I would need a super new system to run most of those games save for maybe Star Wars Battlefront there.

My main concern is as I said above whether I should cancel completely as I am in within the 14-day right to cancel window or if I should amend my order.

You won’t be able to amend your order on the website, as AMD builds use a different configurator to that used for Intel builds. You can either just cancel and place a new order, or create an AMD build and phone PCS (long queues) with the unique configuration number for an AMD build and ask if they will change the order.

Why phone if you can email. I cancelled my order just a few weeks ago and got a response within 2 working days and money back within 5 working days.

You cannot amend Intel to AMD as it's a completely different system and a new build should be made.

How to cancel

If you wish to cancel your order (the contract) the quickest way is to logon to your customer account area and complete our RMA cancellation form but this is not obligatory. Alternatively, please refer below to the model cancellation form which you can use to cancel the contract:
