Advice on best gaming laptop config for running cool & quiet?

I recently bought an Asus TUF A17 (Ryzen 7 4800H, GTX 1660Ti) and returned it because it was running very hot and loud (hitting mid 90's under medium gaming load).

I was thinking of replacing it with a PC Specialist Defiance 17" laptop with a 10875H and RTX 2060. Can you advise if this model should be able to handle medium level gaming without overheating or producing excessive fan noise? Would you recommend something different if being cool / quiet is a major concern?

Also - if I did order the above system, it is showing as 'stock due 13/6/20', which is tomorrow (Saturday). Is that really the case? Can you advise how quickly I could get the system?

Thanks!

Unless its a 'next day preconfigured laptop' https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers-next-day/laptop/ you will join the queue of current orders which I think is approximately 11-13 days. However your mileage will vary depending on your specification. It should be noted that Day 1 of your 'wait' doesn't start until your order is accepted (so likely not until Monday 15th at the earliest).

Thanks - any advice on my query about the best model for running cool / quiet and if the model / config I mentioned would be a good choice for this?

I have a Vyper 3 with a 2070 and can comfortably play in Office Mode which sits at 80 degrees and the fans are barely noticeable.

You can try custom fan curves too.

Anyone else with experience on this? I'm thinking of replacing my G5 15 SE with the Optimus Pro (Ryzen 4800). I'm really disappointed in the thermals with the G5.

I was surprised by how hot the 4800H ran in my Asus A17. It was mid 90's just playing the Sims. The fans were working really hard and the whole laptop was hot as a hot thing.

I've seen some other YT videos of laptops with the 4800H running hot. I think mine was limited to 115, so mid 90s is still within parameters...but I'm not sure they should be running as hot as that. Other designs of laptop with better airflow and cooling arrangements may be better.
