Advice on build?

Hi all,

I've been looking at buying a pc for video editing drone footage and some casual gaming. I'm a total noob with pcs but i've looked at various bits and pieces and kind of put one together. It's probably a hideous build but if anyone can help me with improvements then that would be great.

Not intense professional photo/video editing, more a hobbyist drone user looking to improve skills for now. Games would be mainly Football Manager (high specs), strategy based like Total War, Project Zomboid.

I'd like to keep the PC side of things below £2000
I will need a monitor so anything below or around £300 for that if you can point out a decent monitor for that on here?

The case I'd like to keep pretty standard looking, again if any pointers for that.

The parts I'm stuck on most are the Power Supply (750 or 1000w is advised?) and processor cooling (no idea, just picked the top one).

And any modifications to the other parts (storage 32/64gb?, motherboard etc) would be amazing

Thanks in advance

I would wait until the end of the month as new AMD cpu's are releasing on a new architecture, so even if the performance doesn't out do the current X3D parts, it will affect pricing across the board.

Interesting. That could be good as it will early August I look to buy anyway
From AMD's presentation, they're claiming the 9700x outperforms the 7800X3D by a few percent and likely at a lower cost.

BUT manufacturers marketting claims TEND to be complete garbage based on unrealistic testing scenarios, so it's best to wait for 3rd party reviews. I'm not sure when the embargo lifts, but it will be a minimum of 24 hours before release date. Worth waiting for those.

Just checked and the 7700x on release was £428.99 which is more than I’d remembered, so the 7800X3D may still be the value proposition which can currently be found as low as £315!

If I was looking to buy right now and wanted to be clever with the cash I would buy a X870 system at a good level and pop in a 7800X3D.

I will be very surprised to see the 7800X3D being toppled by anything but the 9700X3D (or 9800X3D or whatever it's going to be) in anything but test cases. The likes of Flight simulator etc get huge gains from the stacked cache.

Evening all

Just looking for any advice on this build on what could be improved/overkill? I'm in a position to buy a PC (ideally nowish) for light hobby video/photo editing and some gaming. I'd love to get back into games like Football manager, strategy war games and Project Zomboid catching the eye.

I Know AMD have/are releasing new CPUs so will it dramatically improve and worth waiting for?

Graphics card I was looking at is the AMD Radeon 7800xt gaming but they are out of stock at the moment so again is it worth waiting for that to come back in stock or does the 7700xt hold up? is there another card of decent equivalence?

I'd need a monitor also but stumped as to what would be a good option so any help on that would be great?

Budget would be £2000-£2200 for the PC and hopefully around £500 (if not a bit more) for a monitor

Thanks in advance

So after looking at a fefw other similar build specs and a few extra pennies to spend (thanks car for not being as expensive as i'd thought!) I think I'd pull the trigger on this build? I guess I have 2 questions...

1. is this a good spec for what I need, any changes? Video/Photo Editing and gaming (Football Manager, Proect Zomboid, Strategy games etc
2. Monitor....I'll have about £500 left over but ideally wouldn't want to spend the whole amount. Any suggestions?
