Advice on gaming PC spec please

My max budget is 3K. The monitor I'm using is an AOC CQ32G2S - 32" QHD VA 2560x1440 @ 165Hz. I will be using the rig predominately for gaming, e.g; DD2. Elden Ring, Elder Scrolls Online, COD etc. Other uses would be for internet browsing & creating MS Office documents.

I would be grateful of any comments before I make my final decision to order.

We love you Ukraine
I would wait a little personally, the new 9000 series CPUs are due to be released at the end of the month which will affect pricing across the board as well as may offer some better chip options.

Thanks, I will take you advice & wait for 9000 series.

I've slightly changed my original build spec & I'm ready to place an order. Before I commit I would be very grateful for any comments on my spec. Oh, I have one question, is the Asus ROG strix X260E-A a good choice or would it be better to opt for the TUF X670E?

Yes, it's a good motherboard, but doesn't offer much extra over the TUF version, but then it's only about £40 more.

Here's the comparison...
TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI Product different Compare|ASUS United Kingdom

I think the STRIX has an extra PCIe 5.0 m.2 slot (it's just a PCIe 4.0 on the TUF); moves 2 USB ports from the rear to the front headers (same number in total though, but in different configs of USB2/3); slightly different audio codec/chip (ROG Supreme ALC4080 vs Realtek S1220A);

If those differences seem worth £40 then it will come down to whether you prefer the silver aesthetic of the STRIX...

...or the black aesthetic of the TUF...

Your choice of the Corsair 5000X is purely for aesthetics?
Just so you know, the front glass impedes a good airflow. It will work, but is not optimal in terms of cooling (especially the GPU).

Edit: you can have a look at the specifications of the motherboards and other components if you click on the "?" next to the selector.

Therefore would it be advisable to add more fans, e.g. 3x CORSAIR iCUE LINK QX120 RGB 120mm PWM Fans?

Not sure. 3 side fans would help push air into the case (provided you don't have an obstacle close to the openings), but the air flow would not be directed in the best of direction. I've seen some results on Youtube showing worse cooling performance when adding side fans. The answer is not a simple yes or no I'm afraid. It depends on the specific case, position/size of other components, fan speed, etc.

Again, I would say the choice depends on your priority: form or function.

You don't need extra fans with the 5000x for performance reasons. I have that case (with it's 3 front fans and a PCS fan as an exhaust) housing a 4090 running games at 4k120 and have zero issues with cooling...the highest I've seen it was 72 degrees with the glass front on.

Besides, you can just remove the glass front when you are gaming...the front just clips on so it's simple to remove.

Yeah, agree. As much as the 5000X has a glass front, it's designed in such a way to allow the air to pass in through the sides of the glass anyway. Airflow tests have been very positive, it's a fantastic all around case and you won't have any issues.

An airflow edition will offer better airflow, but not to the point where it's going to be out-performing the chosen parts or have any notable impact.

Thank you, I will go with the 500X
