Hi there!

We could change a couple areas. What games are you looking to play and what monitor will this be paired with? Either make and model or resolution and refresh rate would be ideal. If you could also include the green configuration link, that'd be great- it makes it a lot easier to suggest changes!

Thanks!

I would be looking to play a multitude of games, ranging from FPSs games, to MMOs, to RPGs. I will be pairing this with 1440p and 144hz refresh rate monitor.

Awesome! Thanks for this info 👌

This build should do you nicely! I've swapped to the i5 12600K as for gaming performance, this will be ample. I'd only go for the 12700K if you needed the extra cores for something CPU bound- video edting for example

For monitors, I'd look elsewhere, especially with Black Friday round the corner. The Samsung G5 is currently a great deal from Amazon and well liked on the forum. Or if you have a bit more cash, the ASUS TUF VG27AQ1A is a fantastic deal for a 1440p IPS monitor

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Much better airflow case. This one is a more minimalst case, if you like the RGB look, the Lian Li 215 or the Cooler Master TD500 are great choices
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i5 10-Core Processor i5-12600K (3.7GHz) 20MB Cache Change explained above. You could go for the KF as you won't need the onboard graphics and it'd save a bit of cash
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready The TUF Z690 will happily handle the 12600K, the TUF boards are generally a good mix between price, performance and features. This one now includes WiFi too
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) I'd recommend going with 2 sticks so you have the option to upgrade down the road
Graphics Card
8GB PALIT GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR Great choice for 1440p gaming, nice pick!
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W) Significantly faster Boot SSD for Windows and applications
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) Speedy drive for everything else
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Much higher quality PSU that'll also allow for an upgrade in the future
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler Little unsure on what the 12600K requires thermally so I thought I'd play it safe with the fantastic H100i Capellix
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001] I'd stick to Windows 10 until all the bugs are ironed out of W11

I will let you know. So you wouldn’t recommend getting the monitor I had on my order?
Not really. It's not a monitor I've heard a lot about so I simply don't know what it's like. Although looking at the specs it seems to have a TN panel which is arguably the worst of the current panel technologies and when it's £30 more than the Samsung G5 (with current Black Friday deals) which has a better VA panel, it just doesn't seem like a sensible purchase

Thanks so much for your help, I ordered today, and have gone for the ASUS monitor you mentioned.

Hello all, some advice please. Just got an email about a delay on the case I have selected on this spec, it has asked me select another to speed up the process. Could anyone recommend any comparable ones with equally good airflow etc?

Can you post the spec of the build you went for? The 4000X in the configurator is a great shout for the price at the minute though, should suit most builds

Hello all, sorry for posting in the wrong place most likely. But my PC is arriving tomorrow, I was just wondering what sort of things I should be doing initially, in set up terms etc etc. Windows updates, GPU updates and that sort of thing? Back ups and so on. Sorry for a stupid question, just want to be safe and sure.
