Advice on upgrading new motherboard and PSU

My desktop was installing a large update when we had two powercuts in a row. It now won't start at all, and as I can't even hear the fan on the PSU start, I believe the powercut shortcircuit either or both the PSU and motherboard, so I'm looking to replace those parts. I will also need to replace the ram due to my current ram being DDR3. I'm looking for advice on what I should consider getting

My current component (which I think are relevant to the discussion)
Graphic Card: GeForce GTX 1060
CPU: PC Intel Core i7 7700 1151
Networkd card: Internal WLAN 300 MBIT
Motherboard: Asus (I'm not sure which one)
PSU: ATX stp-650

I've uploaded three photos on The first one shows the current setup, the second one the motherboard without the graphic card, and the third one the screw holes for the motherboard in case it makes a difference.

My usage
Since my desktop broke, my company has provided me with a work computer, so my desktop will mainly be used for gaming. I wouldn't say I play any high intensity game, and often I play games that are a few years old. Recent games I played which have been high intensity have been Dishonored (1 and 2); Hitman; The Witcher (1 to 3); modded minecraft (Skyfactory);
I do also a bit of programming on LateX (specifically Tikz) and use some fractal generators for fun.

What I'm looking for
A motherboard, ram and PSU that's compatible with my Graphic card and CPU. Looking at my case, I believe I can have a bigger motherboard if that would be a good upgrade (the third photos list where the screw holes are if that's helpful). I might upgrade my graphic card in a couple of years.
I'm not sure of my budget yet, so it would be useful to have a range of options.

Background knowledge in building PC
I'm mostly a novice. I've changed my Graphic card once, but I know how to work out how things fit together.

Thank you in advance for all and any advice I receive.

Please note that these forums are for PCSpecialist (who sell custom built PCs and laptops) so we cant advise on competitor builds or self-builds at all.

But what I will say it that you're replacing stuff like mobo, ram and PSU, it's probably worth just getting a new PC and then adding in your GPU.

If you want helping speccing up a PCSpecialist build (with or without a GPU) then we can help - but for anything else then something like the toms hardware forums would be a better place as we cant really help here

Fair. I was recommended PCSpecialist by a friend who had their computer through you and thought you also sell individual components.
