Just upgrades too stay with the times
And not get a new pc every 2 years
Seems too be cheaper to upgrade imo

If no gaming is involved and you are planning to use it for online poker and other less demanding applications SLI and crossfire is not needed. A four core processor should last you more than 2 years for those applications (apu or fx-4100).
