Allo,

Throughout my teens and into my twenties i've always video edited on Sony Vegas, I got pretty decent and I got some good views on youtube/other sites following esports in it's infancy with my documentaries racking up around 700k views in total, with 6.4 million views in total including my other videos on my youtube.

I've come to the conclusion that I want to go back to something that I have loved previously, filming, editing, and releasing movies. I always enjoyed to create entertainment that people at the end of a rubbish day can watch and take their mind off things. Albeit this time, it would be in a more professional setting.

I'm willing to pump around £2k into a new editing rig, that would beat the absolute pants off this 2013 pre-build box (i7 4770k, 16gb 1600mhz DDR3 Ram, 780 Nvidia, 250Gb SSD, 2TB HHD) and I recently bought a cheap 1080ti from a friend, so the GPU isn't included into the price.

Then after working on Sony Vegas editing suite, or as it's known these days as Vegas Pro i'm going to relearn how to edit on the Adobe editing suite, which i'm quite looking forward too. It also seems to be industry standard when applying for jobs.

I'm excited, and anxious. So thanks for any help I might receive on these forums, and no doubt I will probably be asking far too many dumb questions in the future. Ta.

What sort of e-sports do you follow? I'm actually one of the developers behind Blizzards very quick change to having all the cast and players working from home after the lock-down restrictions were put in place. I wrote the app that caused the crunch time meme on the first live trial of overwatch:rolleyes:.

Nice to meet you, you managed to do some pretty amazing things in a short space of time! I follow Dota 2 quite closely, and CSGO less so. I haven't played much from Blizzard, the only one I have was Starcraft 2. Which I used to love watching and playing until the scandal in South Korea nearly killed the game and it lost all of its spectators. I was always tempted to play World of Warcraft, but I saw how some of my friends (when we were back in school) played it a couple of times and got instantly hooked, and they would play it all day every day. I thought then, that WoW must be fantastic, if it takes such a hold of a person, and decided not to try it.
What esports do you follow? How are you holding up in this lockdown?

Presuming you can use the windows licence from your current rig I think it would be VERY hard to beat this. Paired with your 1080ti it will be a video rendering monster, seriously.... seriously.. quick.
