Amendments to order help

Hello, So I ordered a 3080GPU custom build pc just over a month ago. As everyone knows they're in short supply. I'm going to change my order to the 3070 whilst tweaking a few other things.

My build has been done on finance, after tweaking my amendments will save me £96 (yipee). When I hit proceed to change the order will this then cancel my previous build completely and need to re-do the finance or will it just take the £96 off my finance agreement and go through?

No, it won't cancel the order at all, it will just create a credit note and then you can either leave it as a credit note to spend at PCS or they'll reimburse you I believe. They won't change the financial agreement I don't think as that's already been signed, although I'm not 100% sure about that.

But it won't cancel your order, or change your position in the queue.

I would suggest getting advice on the build though, if you can do with the 3070, then it's likely it wasn't specced correctly in the first place.

Thank you for the reply.

I have asked for advice on the build.

That is why above I said I made a few tweaks to accommodate and in return saved myself £96. I just didn't want my order being cancelled or knocked back in the queue before pulling the trigger on the change.

Ah gotcha, that’s ok then, so long as you’ve had some good pointers.

You’re welcome to post specs here if you want an approval, but I fully trust the guys on the discord channel.

Yeah, don’t worry about amending, won’t have any negative effect.

That is my current build with no amendments but changing the GPU to a 3070, Cooler to a H115i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB, then having 2 M.2 SSD drives instead of 1.

IIRC Juni0r is one of the leading lights on the discord and judging from the assistance he has been giving on here I am confident that you are in safe hands. That being said there also some very smart cookies on here so always nice to see other opinions.

Build looks solid with the amendments mentioned, I'm sure you've already had the AMD vs Intel discussion so won't go into it again.

I’m not too sure that intel 10th gen supports 3200mhz ram, so it may be worth underclocking that build and tightening the timings of the ram. I’d assume it will be 3200CL16, but 3000CL14 would be better.

What I found in the past when in a similar situation (amendments giving refund on a finance arrangement) was the refund went back against the card I used to pay a deposit with, the finance agreement wasnt changed.

Thank you, my main point for this thread was to find out what would happen amending my build after finance was signed and order was placed. I've been in pre-production for 24 days lol. Just didn't want it causing an issue.

Yes I made a number of changes to my order which was by finance and I had no issues, though if I went under my original total I then added something else so it always cost more:LOL:

You get a credit note or something, can't remember the exact wording, if its lower, so I guess this just gets knocked off the finance total.
