in short... no. This isn't a build I would recommend.

You're creating a throw away system with a non-gaming monitor. I would advise saving up a bit more and aiming for something with a bit more longevity.

There are new hardware options coming very soon so I would hold off if you can. You won't necessarily be purchasing the new hardware but it will bring the current hardware prices down.

This is roughly where I would land for entry level. I would consider a second M2 drive for game storage though.

Thanks for the telling me this. I'm glad that you saw the faults in my specs. From this I'll see if I can make one that is better.

Could you me more specific on what new hardware is coming out and what should I be looking out for.

Could you me more specific on what new hardware is coming out and what should I be looking out for.
New CPU's both AMD and Intel, new motherboard ranges with new PCIe5 (not backwards compatible), new PSU's with a new standard for the first time in about 20 years, new SSD's that won't be backwards compatible and will get double the current speeds, new RAM standard that isn't backwards compatible.

Don't buy now, you'll regret it, what you can afford now, you'll get substantially more power for the same money buy just holding off a week or so.

To hit £1400 I'd get something quite different; I don't think this is a great build at all. You're stretching too high on the CPU and it's leading to compromises elsewhere. The value options at the moment are the Ryzen 5000 CPUs and the Radeon 6000 graphics cards.

For a monitor, I'd suggest something good at 1080p like the MSI Optix G241, which is about £190. Then a build like this:

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE Better case
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Six Core CPU (3.5GHz-4.4GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Excellent budget gaming CPU
Motherboard

ASUS® PRIME B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! Budget but good motherboard
Memory (RAM)

16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) Faster RAM
Graphics Card

10GB AMD RADEON™ RX 6700 - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 Best value graphics card (good for 1440p, excellent for 1080p)
1st M.2 SSD Drive

512GB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR, 1625MB/sW) Fast boot drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive

1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (3300 MB/R, 2900 MB/W) For game storage
Power Supply

CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Good, quiet, efficient performance now; capacity for upgrades in the future
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
PCS FrostFlow 150 Series High Performance CPU Cooler Plenty for the 5600
Thermal Paste

In many ways, this build would better suit a 1440p monitor (the 1080p graphics cards aren't significantly cheaper, so feel like poor value to me). For £330 you could get the excellent Dell S2721DGFA, which would be a vastly better experience, but it would take the overall cost to £1530...

My budget is £1450 and this PC will be mainly used for playing games such as 'Elden Ring' and 'Phasmophobia', but I would also like to be able to use the PC for work at home and general use like YouTube. The monitor is a MSI 27" Optix G273 curved screen (£172 on PCSPECIALIST and is a gaming monitor)

That system is really unbalanced, I'm afraid. You're going quite hard on CPU and graphics card, but at the cost of a well-balanced system. The case, motherboard, memory, power supply and cooling are all honestly insufficient, while the storage is also not what I myself would want. Finally, that monitor is not one I'd recommend as it's 1080p, which isn't a great experience at 27" because it's quite low pixel density.

I'd go for a base system like this one, which goes with AMD because you get so much more for your money:

You can then go for a strong 1080p display like the MSI G241 (around £190) or a low-end 1440p display like the ViewSonic VX2718-2KPC-MHD, which you can have for £200. The above system would be well-matched for either.

Ok thanks for the advise, but to be honest I would prefer to have an Intel CPU mainly for its performance (like the Intel i7-12700K). I am also curious as why you have suggested to use a 750W power supply when I could use a 450W or a 550W.

Well, you get a little extra CPU performance, but only by cutting your budget on other elements of the build that also affect performance. (An H610 motherboard will make a 12700K pointless, for example. You might as well get a 12400. Ditto a single stick of DDR4-2666 RAM) Intel's performance advantage is probably there, but it's small, and you pay for it.

With the power supply specifically... A 550W PSU may theoretically be sufficient, but you get better value for money by getting something more capable, because in a few years you can upgrade the graphics card without touching the rest of the system, for a big performance bump. You don't want to be caught with insufficient power capacity. Moreover, a better power supply is quieter, more reliable, and more efficient. Cutting back on the PSU may be financially tempting, but ultimately it makes for a poorer system and gives poor value.

(By the way, I said the case was a problem above. That was a mistake: the 4000D Airflow is great, though it has a USB-C front panel connector that the AMD motherboard doesn't support, which is why I suggested changing it.)

So would you suggest that I change out the single 16GB RAM stick for a double 8GB RAM stick. Change the H610M to a B660M, and to change the power supply to the 750W TXm.

I mean, it would be an improvement (especially if you're looking at the 3200MHz memory), but honestly I still don't recommend it as you're still spending more for worse performance. But it's your money.

The platform is paramount, if you have a well designed platform, then you extend the lifetime of the build exponentially because it will support upgrades. What you're proposing to sacrifice will limit what you can upgrade in the future. Believe me, for the sake of a few quid, it's not something you want to compromise on.

We will generally only recommend a build with a platform strong enough to factor in a lifetime of around 7 - 10 years with a few GPU upgrades in the lifetime which is unavoidable.

You may think you're saving money, but in the long term, you're spending far far more.

Well, I wouldn't recommend that system. Some parts are upgraded, but others let it down. (The case, the cooler, the power supply, the RAM speed, perhaps the motherboard. The storage is worse, too.) To me it wouldn't be a great choice because too many corners are cut.
