Asking for Spec Advice for Build for using 3D software

I'm looking to replace my current setup with a desktop built for using 3D sculpting & animation software (Zbrush, Maya, Blender etc), alongside the Adobe suite and Unreal Engine. I've been told that the Graphics Adaptor and RAM are most important, though a good CPU is will also be needed for rendering.

My budget cap is £3000, including accessories (Duel Monitor setup, keyboard & mouse etc etc), I have tried using the PC builder to configure something based on advice I've been given from a friend, But i'm aware that some, if not most of it likely needs an overhaul so further advice would be appreciated.

24". I'm aware larger provides higher res but anything 27" and up feels too big for me, partly because i don't have enough height room on my desk, and partially given i'll have more then one. I'll be doing art, digital sculpting etc so a decent monitor is probably important

If you are looking at a dual monitor setup, it may be worthwhile just considering an ultrawide (or even super ultrawide) monitor.

This would give you the benefit of increased resolution while still using minimal desk space :)

A super wide is actually 2 x 1440p monitors so gets rid of the requirement for multiple monitors. For productivity they’re far better.

The reason i want multiple monitors is because its more convenient for my workflow - esp as several programs fill the whole screen, so having reference or other material on a second screen is very useful

Yes, even though it’s one monitor you can treat it as 1, 2, 3 or 4 monitors and just split the program windows into each corner, standard feature on windows. As it’s 1440p you’d have essentially 2 full 1440p screens of real estate which would be far more than having separate 1080p screens for instance.

Then you’ve also got virtual desktops anyway to flit between if you want to isolate the program window from your current desktop.

its far better for workstation workflows.

You can even plug multiple sources into it and split screen, it’s literally no different than having multiple screens, just better because it’s a seamless panel.

Are you still on windows 7 by any chance?

I've tried both but personally i prefer a duel setup. Using multiple windows in one monitor just feels clunky, and tends to irritate me, especially as they are already programs with several segmented elements. They don't need to be monitors of equal quality, and I'm open to looking outside of PCSpecialist for them later on.

@Nursemorph Thanks for the imput, I did talk it through with a friend who knows what specs i need some more and they adjusted it to fit what i need better, (which as a bonus, reduced the price by a bit), I'll probably chuck that up once i have a better idea of what kinds of monitors i want as a final check, but once again thanks for taking the time

I doubt that to be honest, there's no way there's a better spec for your uses for less money.

There is of course option to reduce spec in order to save money but that's as good as you'll get for your budget :)

Hey, So before i buy this I wanted to get opinions on the spec below.

The monitors aren't included because i'm going to look elsewhere for what i need. I'm planning on having a duel monitor setup of either two 24" monitors or one 24" and one 27" depending on what i find works out better for my purpose - one of which will be an IPS 4k monitor. I am not considering an extra-wide monitor.

Otherwise, any additional advice is welcome. My maximum budget, without the moniters, is £2500

I recommend getting a 3900x for faster renders and better performance and this M.2 for a faster OS and faster open and close. Putting files on it and the program you make 3d models on will make it really fast. If you want better renders I suggest the XT but its not needed. Overall I'm not the best person at PC building but this is a good suggestion: If your gonna be rendering a lot of stuff at the same time 32gb is good but if you really need it I suggest you get 64gb RAM. 32gb RAM is fine though. Getting rid of that cpu heat while rendering is best so get the better thermal paste.

Regarding Monitors. A good Monitor to get is a Ultrawide 4k Monitor with these specs. If your looking to do gaming on this machine aswell on a 4k monitor I suggest getting a 1440p Monitor or a 2080 super but again not needed. If you wont then its not needed. The 2080 is just a little boost in FPS. You DONT need it. (2080 Super recommended for 4k editing/gaming)

Given your application, you might be better off with specialist monitors for designing and photography. The BenQ PD2500Q is a 25” 2K monitor with 100% sRGB and rec.709 gamut coverage. It also has specialist modes for designers including Animation. It is 299 Euros on the Benq site, but up you might find it cheaper elsewhere. I have seen it online from about £230.

There is also the SW240C. This is in the photography range, is 24” 2K 10 bit and covers a wider colour gamut. The BenQ price for this is higher at 499 Euros, but again may be cheaper elsewhere. I have seen this online from £390.

Depending on the cost of the PC you may be able to get 2 of these within your overall budget.

The spec is fine for your needs...I would go with the Strix 570 motherboard for the extra VRMs it has. RAM, if I was you, I'd go for 16GB of 3600MHz and then ask PCS to add another to bring it to 32GB (they frequently do it). Other thing is to lose the thermal paste as that cooler comes with high performance paste already applied (and it will likely be applied better than PCS will do it)
They add it for free?

@Nursemorph I'm not sure how i'd configure the RAM like that, but can i ask why getting 2 16GB works better then one 36GB?

Since the RAM is splitted it can spread tasks out. But 4x8 is bad since it fills the bad ram slots aswell. It looks good but with a CPU like that you should get a corsair cooler. (RGB Liquid Processor Cooler) Other then that there is the ram. Buy the PC with the 16gb ram which has 3600MHz. If you dont want to then get 2x16 3200MHz ram as it is better as many motherboards have 2 slow ram slots and can limit the speed of your ram.

You would want the H115i Plat cooler with any of the 3900 CPU's anyway.
Does reduce the number of cases on offer though as its a bit bigger than the 100 if i remember, but I think its the more budget cases that wont fit it anyway.

Fractal Define 7 is an exceptionally good case though, I dont think ive seen a single negative comment or review about it. The PCS cases are all a bit poor to be honest. If you arent that worried over soundproofing, something like the Meshify C would give you the clear sidepanel and is another good case
