Being bantered by email

I ordered my new PC two Fridays ago and having read up on the forum combined with the delivery timeframes I was aware it'd probably be around 3 weeks before I received my order which is absolutely fine.

The day I placed my order I got my login details and saw it was on pre-processing and I haven't checked the status since as I'm not impatient at all then this morning I received two emails from PCSpecialist, I was buzzing as obviously they were informing me they were moving onto the next stage 🥳

I then opened both emails, they were identical in everything apart from a time stamp one minute apart and what did they both say?

We are currently processing your order (number 1234567) and we aim to dispatch your order as soon as possible. Your order has so far been processing for 5 - 6 working days. Because of the way our production facility works, sometimes orders can take longer to enter the building and testing process, but please be assured that we aim to dispatch your order as soon as possible. Orders are normally shipped within 2 - 3 days after being assembled.

I then logged into my account and it's still pre-processing!

Are you taking the 🤬? I'm fully aware how long it's been processing and your email has not updated me further and has informed me of naff all lol, stop the weekend email banter please and get back to building PCs, emails like that are not amusing 😡

Funny buggers...

Fairly certain those are auto-generated emails after a certain time frame has passed.

Yeah I'm not complaining just found it amusing especially as there were two emails, when I noticed those emails I was like "yes it's finally being built" to "damn you buggers getting my hopes up when nothings been done" 😁

PCS are damned if they do and damned if they don't. We get lots of 'complaints' and queries on here from people who placed their order yesterday and want to know why it's not built yet. Waiting for your order to be built is frustrating, we all of us know that. PCS know that too and I'm guessing (because don't work for PCS) that these autogenerated emails are a way for PCS to let customers who are in the queue know that they haven't been forgotten and that their order will be processed as soon as it can be.

Clearly you're someone who is happy to wait and trust that all is well and your order will get built in its turn. Others however are less patient and they need 'stroking' at regular intervals so that they know that the wheels are turning. I guess you just can't please all of the people all of the time.......

Yeah as I said I definitely wasn't complaining, I thought my post was clearly light hearted but maybe I should've posted it in the humour / jokes section for clarity

Also I didn't know you got a lot of complaints on here, personally I don't find it at all frustrating waiting to be honest, PCS are clear with their build times on the site and forums and even the fast track option states it's not a guarantee, when I see 12-14 working days delivery time I'm fully prepared to wait that time as a minimum, patience is definitely a virtue 👉

Interesting that this should crop up as I've also received such an email.
I'm also happy to wait and fully understand the order lead times and phases of build. Nevertheless, I noticed last Friday that mine entered the Pre-Production phase with a 7 working day duration (normally <1 week) and yet yesterday it had risen to 9 working days (normally <1 week).
Just wondered if there's a bottleneck developing or whether the China issue has started to have an impact?

You’d have to ask PCS directly, we can only speculate.
