Hi there,

Just set up and tested my new Defiance V RTX laptop...

13444

My Fire Strike score is 15140.

I think I might be quite high on the leaderboard!

Cheers all,

Rob.

Just for fun, post your 3DMark scores here. Please also include the online results page so we can see your spec and drool. or laugh.

For 3DMark, download here:

Please run the Firestrike test and post the results page link. It has GPU, CPU and combined score so it should give everyone a better idea of performance.

Well, the 3900 isn't a gaming chip... Still, it seems kinda low for your laptop (even though those benchmarks measure very different things, your laptop managed to get awesome/insane cinebench results)

Done research and apparently it's because they never bothered to optimise that test for AMD.

The rationale being " it's a realistic representation of the architecture differences"

Which I kinda get, some software you use might be old and unoptimised fair enough.

But bench marks are to compare in an apples to apples way so it's kinda BS from 3d mark as it gives intel a unfair advantage in this case.

My individual physics score and graphics score are around the 20k mark so it's very confusing.

This is mine, new PC so all settings, everything the same as when PCS sent it out.

This is very new to me testing stuff so no idea on the results.

While those scores look amazing to me, 3Dmark seems to say that most people with similar specs to yours usually get between 32200 and 36799. So there might be a bit of performance yet to be squeezed out of your machine, but I cannot tell exactly where. I would guess on the memory speeds? You should have chosen something faster (at least 3200), or maybe you have a background app that's using some resources.

I don't think the memory is configured right, could be wrong though. My guess is it's at least 3200Mhz. I would hope so at least. That's a serious bottleneck if it's legit.

Its 4 8gb 3600mhz
Like I said its just how PCS left it, I haven't been through everything yet.
Any advice to configure the memory better?

You will need to set the profile in the BIOS. If you are comfortable going into the BIOS you may see it, but if not we can talk you through it. Hopefully it'll be under an XMP profile.

The memory is indeed running at 2133mhz when I check on the task manager, performance.
I had a look in bios last night and everything seems like it should be running correctly, AI overclock tuner is set to d.o.c.p and the correct ram speed is set 3600mhz.
I googled a few vids on this last night and they say to get ram running at right speeds to set the d.o.c.p on but mine already seems like it is.

Update on the above.
I went into bios and lowered the speed to 3200, saved and restarted and the memory was running at 3200, went back to bios and kept putting the speed up until i reached 3600, restarted and its running at 3600hmz now.

Ran the firestrike again and results below.

Now that's what I wanted to see! Great that you figured that out and ended up with an even faster machine. Congratulations, that is a hell of a score (y)
